Lisbeth is a very complex character :) i hope you like her!don't rush reading this. it's a lot to take in, esp with the scandal/horror that is the core of the story.
the Swedish movie was really good, close to the book sya actually.

It's a murder-mystery.I don't want to spoil anything, but as is expected from some books in the genre, there are certain scenes that well may left you... horrified. Haha! :D

At para makadagdag sa kaangasan, while reading this one during the holiday the previous year I listened to Trent Rezonr and Karen O's cover for Led Zeppelin's The Immigrnat, which was the OST of the Hollywood/Fincher adaptation.

IKR, you can laugh at me, pero madali lang tlaga ako mgka-nightmares. hindi ako matatakutin, talagang napapanaginipan ko lang ung mga binabasa ko...
and yeah so far, I think lisbeth is an interesting girl~ Katniss is fierce but still a child for me, the character of Lisbeth looks promising though.

What Lisbeth did in the novel is probable, specially now that we rely so much with computers and the internet to the ease with which we are living.

Pasawsaw...I loved this book series. Though, its financial journalism part bored me to a deep snore...But the rest is all action-packed.Its Swedish film adaptation is so like how I imagined Lisbeth Salander. I haven't watched its hollywood version though. Can anyone compare the 2 versions?

"Though I deeply admire David Fincher, his version of Larsson's novel just deviated too far to its original source, but then again that's just me.
If you value your time, just stick to the Swedish film version. Compact ang direction at tight ang screenplay. Noomi Rapace is the best Lisbeth Salander bar none! :)

Blomkvist & Salander age gap. I think this is acceptable in western. Though it made me flinch a bit. It would have been ok if Blomkvist is as goodlooking as George Clooney. lol..

And, since I've already mentioned it and delving further in the subject, I think there's some bit of parallelism with Blomkvist-Salander tandem to the Holmes-Watson duo.
Wala lang. I just realized this when I'm reading Conan-Doyle's novels and stories. Though Larsson, of course, had a modern take on the plot device.

Actually, when she realized it, the feeling of loving one other person other than her mother is a strange emotion for her.
Natatandaan niyo yong last scene sa book, that was her first heart break. Haha! :D I feel for her! And of course, Lisbeth being Lisbeth, she responded to that situation only with anger because it's one of the defense mechanisms she has.
Ang ganda no? Ang complex ng character niya. :)
Tama! Just when she accepted that she can love pala, hnd pala the same ang feelings ng lolo mo. heartbreak kung heartbreak kasi ang tagal nyang nilabanan ung feelings nya, tapos mauuwi din sa wala. :)

Pero napaka-ladies man kasi ni Mikael, kung sino-sino na lang. -_- At eto namang si Lisbeth, hindi un ang ine-expect kong gagawin niya sa ending, dapat hinagis niya ung gift sa face ni Berger o kaya pinambasag niya ng kotse ni Berger. Pero, wala eh, ganun siya masaktan. Kinimkim na lang.

@Eli ganun daw talaga kapag mahal mo ang isang tao hindi mo siya kaya saktan kahit galit ka na...it only means mahal ni Lisbeth si Blomkvist. Ikaw ba magagawa mong saktan ang mahal mo?...nagtatanong lang...
Book 2 na din ako grabe! ganda nito may love triangle na pla si Lisbeth kay Blomkvist!...sampalan eto i-tech!...@Maria kamusta ang Phil. Volcanos natin? hahaha,,,
