I really enjoyed this translation — there are a lot of nice things about it, and some delightful language use (Heaney is Heaney, after all). I still do like some of those rusty and crusty translations that try to stay closer to the Anglo-Saxon feel, though.

I have been reluctant to read this one, wondering just how good a 'new verse translation' could be. But several folks who ought to know have said they really enjoyed it. Maybe I will find it after all.
