Stacia (stacias) | 8 comments Hi all, I'm new to being a librarian, and I wanted to ask some questions about a book that's in my list. I disagree with changes that were made to the book after I added it to my shelf, but I'd rather get a better understanding of what I should do before I do anything.

When I added MGMT4 to my book list, its' stats matched those of the book I had in my hand. Now, and I believe several times, it's been changed from the Student Edition to the Instructor edition. I believe they have the same ISBN-13, but different ISBN-10 (at least my ISBN-10 is different from what the other librarian listed, but the ISBN-13 is the same). Since the edition of the book as listed now isn't what I'm reading, what would be the best course of action for me? Should I add another edition with my correct information, or should I edit the edition that's there now? Would the Student Edition & the Instructor Edition even be considered the same book (considering that publish date and many other things would be the same, even though content is different)? Very, very technically, I would consider MGMT4 to be the 4th edition of the MGMT books by Chuck Williams, so when we're considering edition, which is more important: 3rd vs 4th or student vs instructor? Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. I've read the manual, but I'm still unclear as to what I should do.

Thanks in advance,
Stacia

That edition's ISBN 10 does not correspond to the listed ISBN13. I would create a new edition with the ISBN10, copy the info specific to that edition over to it. Then the existing edition (without the incorrect ISBN10, of course), can be corrected back to what it should be.

Stacia (stacias) | 8 comments Thanks for the reply rivka! I made the changes & combined the two editions (they should be combined, right?). I found the ISBN-13 for the Instructor edition on WorldCat and added it to the other edition.

I really love GoodReads.com & am happy to be able to do my part to help the site have the best, most accurate database.
