This made me like... just ridiculously happy. And here I was worried my letter was lost forever!

Yeah, still waiting. I reckon my owl was forgetful, like Errol, and got lost. Dumbledore was never notified of the mishap and my magical abilities lie dormant until the day that my letter arrives... :)

CCPOTTER My birthday is in the middle of September so when it came along I sat at my window waiting for an owl to come. When it didn't I cried and read Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban probably 15 times that day.

Shobhit I also waited for it. I even used to practice beforehand so I don't look dumb when I'm once their as I would have been muggle born. I used to take a stick and do the spelks. I specialised wingardium leviosia(sorry if spelling wrong). But sadly no letter arrived. Maybe my owl slept on its way and then forgot where it had to go.

Himika Chakraborty I kept looking out for owls after I finished reading the first book.

Just because it was in our heads doesn't mean it wasn't real.

Don't worry It takes a while for the owls to fly across the atlantic (because they can't apparate)

I so did - after feeling the emotional blow of not getting one, when my brother was old enough to be accepted, I pulled out and blew the dust off of my old copy of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I copied the letter onto a sheet of resume paper and the supply lists onto another. I actually had him fooled for a few minutes ("Hey, is Hogwarts actually REAL?"). But unfortunately, emotional blow. It's Hogwarts' fault for not accepting us. I can do a mean LeviOsa. :)
