The couple lived in a small town and barely knew each other. They were both middle aged and the gentleman collected stamps. He started writing love letters to her, I forget how it began. She had no idea they were from him. There was also an adult mentally handicaped man that worked in a bakery, and later attacked the woman when she was taking care of him one night. That's all I remember, but it was a very sweet book I randomly picked up in the library one day years ao.
