Henry grabbed a ow and set of arrows, before picking his targets. Someone had told him he'd be a better shooter if he didn't do the bulls-eye, and he wanted to try for himself

€ℒᓰzᗩßℯЋ ツ Anne wandered into the archery range. She had decided that she needed some more practice in this area since she was planning on leaving camp in a little bit and decided that this might be the best time to practice that. Surprisingly, it wasn't as crowded as it usually was and she was glad, glad that not as many people were going to watch her. Walking over to the closest table, Anne picked out a sleek, black, bow and a few arrows with white feathers on the end. Picking a target that seemed a challenged, she notched her first arrow and pulled until the tension almost made her let the string go. Feeling it vibrate in her hand as she released, the arrow went flying and hit the second to middle ring. "Yea, definitely need some more practice." she said, picking up another arrow.

Henry kept changing targets, hitting most of the dummies, but not always in a vital spot. He stopped to retrieve all the arrows when he was out. He saw a girl start practicing, and waved at her.

€ℒᓰzᗩßℯЋ ツ Anne kept hitting closer to the target but couldn't quite reach the middle. Seeing that she had used up all her arrows, she walked over and plucked them out of the target that was full of holes. Turning back around, Anne found another guy waving at her and she raised an eyebrow, but waved back reluctantly. The guy looked kind of familiar, but so did most people at camp. "Hey, wasn't your name Harry or something?" she asked, notching another arrow and letting it fly towards the target, missing the middle again.

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

"Henry." He walked over next to her and aimed his own arrow. It didn't make the middle, but just a little bit closer than hers. "And you're Anne, right?"

€ℒᓰzᗩßℯЋ ツ "Nice shot," Anne commented, trying to study the way he shot, wondering if she could pick up some tips of how to aim better. "And yea, my name is Anne." she responded to his question, wondering how he had known who she was and her being stupid enough to think his name was Harry. I haven't even heard of anyone named Harry besides Harry Potter. she reasoned, mentally slapping herself in the forehead.

message 8: by [deleted user] (new)

Henry smiled at her, noticing her watching him, "Try better posture. It helps with the release." He shrugged, not sure what else to say to help her. "I'm Athena's" He added as an afterthought

€ℒᓰzᗩßℯЋ ツ Taking his advice, she straightened her back a bit and made sure her elbow was bent upwards, more at a 90 degree angle. Letting the arrow fly, it hit straight on Henry's arrow and caused both of them to fall off of the target. Smiling over at him, she nodded, "That's cool. I'm from Poseidon, so I'm not very good with the whole...weapon thing." she said, motion to the arena that they were in. Anne spent most of her time trying to perfect her water skills, so she hardly knew how to use any of these weapons.

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

He shrugged slightly, "Water's more fun." He agreed, "But some of these weapons are cool." He added wondering what she was thinking. He shot an arrow for something to do

€ℒᓰzᗩßℯЋ ツ "Yea, they are cool. So seeing that you're a child of Athena, you're probably smart. What's it like to be a child of her?" she asked, completely curious. She'd never really talked to someone from the Athena cabin before, they all seemed to think themselves higher of them and didn't really find them worthy of talking to them. But this guy seemed nice so far.

Henry laughed softly, shooting another arrow. "Honors classes at school. Getting teased for being a nerd." He shrugged, "It was okay I guess. I seemed normal enough."

message 13: by €ℒᓰzᗩßℯЋ ツ (last edited Apr 15, 2012 07:06PM) (new)

€ℒᓰzᗩßℯЋ ツ She smiled, trying to imagine him in nerd glasses and plaid shirts, but not being able to. "Well, I think it would have been cool the be a nerd. Nerds definitely are going to rule to world one day." Anne stated, putting her hand above her eyes to block out the sun that was streaming on top of them.

message 14: by [deleted user] (new)

"Sure. Just not this nerd." He pointed to himself, "I'll be busy saving everyone from Medusa or the Minoyuar." He laughed, joking

€ℒᓰzᗩßℯЋ ツ Anne laughed as she shot an arrow and ended up sending it into the branches of the tree above the target. Laughing harder, she walked over and looked up, seeing it caught in some of the smaller branches. "Great, thanks a lot Henry." she said playfully, knowing that people would notice if one of the arrows went missing. They were very strict on weapons being lost and if even an arrow was missing, they had to do workouts on their day off.

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

Henry smiled at her, "Sorry." He called out. "But seriosuly? What were you aiming at?" He wasn't being mean, just curious

€ℒᓰzᗩßℯЋ ツ Rolling her eyes, Anne looked around for some type of water source nearby that she could use to get the arrow down. Because frankly, she wouldn't climb that tree in a million years. Seeing that there was a water bottle next to Henry, she guestured towards it, "Hey, can I use that?" she asked, but knew that he wouldn't give it to her until she had answered his quesion. "And if you must know, I was actually aiming for the target, you just made me laugh so hard that I missed." she said, grateful for the shadows of the trees to cover the blush forming on her face.

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

He tossed it to her easily, making sure it wouldn't spill first of course. "Go ahead." He smiled at her wondering how she could mess up the shot that bad, even if she was distracted

€ℒᓰzᗩßℯЋ ツ "Thanks," she said quietly, concentrating on the water to form as best as she could. Watching as the water floated up and surrounded the arrow in water, Anne brought it back down a caught the arrow in mid air, forcing all the water back into the bottle with ease. Walking back over the Henry, she set the bottle down and dried the arrow off with her camp t-shirt as best as she could. "Well, I think I need to work better on my aim." Anne said, smirking slightly.

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

"You might want to try something easier?" He suggested innocently enough, trying not to smirk. "Like...sewing?" He kept a straight face

€ℒᓰzᗩßℯЋ ツ Her mouth dropped open, "Are you suggesting that because I'm a girl, I can't fight?" Anne knew that he was probably kidding, but it still flared her anger a bit.

message 22: by [deleted user] (new)

"No." He was a bit shocked by her reaction, "I sew sometimes. My sister made me learn." He bit his lip, "I didn't mean to make you upset."

€ℒᓰzᗩßℯЋ ツ She relaxed a bit, but wasn't about to admit that she didn't know how to sew anyway. "You're sister? What was she like?" Anne asked, picking up another arrow and aiming straight at the target. It flew smoothly through the air and hit dead on this time. Wow, I need to get that lucky all the time. she noted, picking another arrow up.

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

"Bossy." He didn't even have to think about it. "She was super cool, always showed me the best stuff on youtube before anyone else heard of it. She loved music, but only before it became popular." Henry looked away, lost in thought.

message 25: by €ℒᓰzᗩßℯЋ ツ (last edited Apr 15, 2012 08:25PM) (new)

€ℒᓰzᗩßℯЋ ツ She saw him suddenly get distracted and creased her eyebrows together in question, "She sounds like a nice person." Anne said kindly, taking a drink of one of the waterbottles that were available to them under the table. He sounded like he really did like her and missed her deeply, but Anne wasn't one to pry and instead let people talk to her only if they wanted to.

message 26: by [deleted user] (new)

"She was." He glanced over at her, "Nice shot, by the way." He said putting a smile on his face. Henry nodded at her, "Do it again?"

€ℒᓰzᗩßℯЋ ツ "What...oh, that." She said, half-smiling at his compliment. "Yea, that was just luck. Doing it again would be a miracle." Belle reasing, jokingly. She'd just have to keep practicing to get better at it. But she found it weird how he had changed the subject so easily, "Did you have any other siblings?"

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

"Yeah." He sighed, "Two brothers." He didn't say anything about them. Henry put away his bow and gathered up the few arrows he'd shot, putting them away also. "Anne?"

€ℒᓰzᗩßℯЋ ツ She raised an eyebrow at how unfocused he seemed at the moment and wondered what exactly he was thinking. Picking up another arrow, she notched it, keeping it steady when he asked for her name. "Yes, Henry?" she asked, watching him out of her peripheral vision.

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

"I don't want to talk about my family." He muttered watching her, then looking away, so he wasn't staring

message 31: by €ℒᓰzᗩßℯЋ ツ (last edited Apr 15, 2012 09:04PM) (new)

€ℒᓰzᗩßℯЋ ツ "That's fine," she said, letting the arrow fly again, knocking her other arrow to the ground. She looked over at him curiously, "I didn't mean to bring up a painful subject." she apolgized, not really sure what exactly made him so...on-edge when he talked about his family, but she wasn't about to push to get information.

message 32: by [deleted user] (new)

Henry relaxed slightly, when she said that. "It's fine. Not like you knew..." He shrugged, and leaned against the wall

€ℒᓰzᗩßℯЋ ツ "No," Anne answered, glancing over at him as she walked over to get the arrows at the target. "I didn't." The sun was shining brightly now and she wished that she had been wearing her sunglasses at that moment, it might help her to be able to see everything better. "Then if we wont talk about family, what about camp? How long have you been here?" Anne asked, too lazy to glance over at his necklace at how many beads. It would just be easier if he told her instead.

message 34: by [deleted user] (new)

"Two months." Henry laughed softly, "Not very long, but long enough, right?" He crossed his arms, not annoyed, but wondering why she wanted to know. "What about you?"

€ℒᓰzᗩßℯЋ ツ Taking a break, she laid the bow and arrows down on the table next to her, taking another drink of water. "Two years. By that time, you think that you'd met everyone, but not even close." Anne explained. She was still meeting new people every day, some of those people had been here longer than her and she hadn't even met some of them met. Tyler was proof of that.

message 36: by [deleted user] (new)

"Yeah. There's a lot of people here." He nodded thoughtfully. "Anne, why don't people go on quests? Like I always hear about it, but no one ever seems to."

€ℒᓰzᗩßℯЋ ツ She thought for a moment, wondering if she could trust him or not. But knowing that the subject wouldn't drop until he got an answer, Anne replied quietly, "There are rumors going around that they want us to stay here so we can train."

message 38: by [deleted user] (new)

"Oh." Henry nodded again, "That makes sense." He could tell she was nervous about telling him, but couldn't figure out why. He uncrossed his arms, frowning a little bit

message 39: by €ℒᓰzᗩßℯЋ ツ (last edited Apr 16, 2012 03:52PM) (new)

€ℒᓰzᗩßℯЋ ツ "Yea, it's kind of weird. No one knows why really...but I go on my own quests sometimes, if you know what I mean." Anne said, winking at him. She knew that it was prohibited to go outside the camp without protection, but she sometimes did anyway.

message 40: by [deleted user] (new)

"Sure." Henry replied smirking slightly. She seemed like the type of girl who wouldn't follow the rules, and she'd just admitted it. "Must be fun."

€ℒᓰzᗩßℯЋ ツ "Yea, it is. It can just get so stuffy in here sometimes..." Anne looked over at him, raising her eyebrow, "you're not going to tell anyone, right?" Henry didn't seem like the type that would tattle-tale on her, but she could never be too sure.

message 42: by [deleted user] (new)

Henry shrugged, "Doubtful." He wasn't going to promise her anything, but did try to put her at ease. "Not like anyone would really care, right?"

message 43: by €ℒᓰzᗩßℯЋ ツ (last edited Apr 16, 2012 06:06PM) (new)

€ℒᓰzᗩßℯЋ ツ She studied him for a moment, wondering exactly how new he was. "Oh, people would care alright. I might have to do 'the secret weapon' workout for weeks and that might just be the start of it...let's just say it's a little risky." Anne finished, not really wanting to go into detail about the punishments. But that wasn't about to stop Anne from sneaking out, it actually gave her a chance to be herself for a little bit and do whatever she wanted. If Chiron took that away... but now that she thought about it, Chiron actually probably knew about her escaping. Sometimes she thought that he knew her better than she did, this probably wasn't an exception.

message 44: by [deleted user] (new)

Henry noticed her studying him, and crossed his arms nervously, "Well, I'm not a tattle-tail." He shook his head at her. "I can keep secrets." He told her, quietly, but not whispering.

message 45: by €ℒᓰzᗩßℯЋ ツ (last edited Apr 16, 2012 09:44PM) (new)

€ℒᓰzᗩßℯЋ ツ Raising an eyebrow, Anne looked away from him, picking up an arrow and began to run the delicate white feather under her finger. "I bet you can Henry, that's why I decided that I could trust you with my secret." she heard as he folded his arms and creased her eyebrows together in question, What does he think I'm doing? Studying him? He's the smart one after all.

message 46: by [deleted user] (new)

Henry looked away, then back at her, "I should go. But maybe I'll see you later" He didn't make it a question, more of a fact

€ℒᓰzᗩßℯЋ ツ Shrugging her shoulders, she picked up the rest of the arrows and picked up the bow again, knowing that she needed some more practice anyway. "Umm...okay, bye Henry." Anne said, giving him an uncertain half-grin.

message 48: by [deleted user] (new)

Henry nodded, "Bye." He repeated smiling at her before leaving.

Nate led Ariana to the archery range. "Here we are," he walked over to the bows, "Pick you weapon." he grinned.

Nate did the same and walked over to a target, "Just so you know I suck at this."
