It's total spam (I think it's been done before, with the same book no less). But we're reclaiming it for actual use, it would seem.

You're absolutely right (which you should be used to). If we were hipsters, we would be 'upcycling' the discussion. :D

We need a rule that you can't promote your book or other product until you've been a member for 3 months and made 150 non-self-promoting comments.

message 14: by Félix (new)

Félix (habitseven) Yeah. A rule.

By that rule, can we start pushing books like this one now?

mark monday (majestic-plural) i absolutely need coffee for the two books i've been slowly reading for over a month. i think i've read over a dozen other books in the meantime. i love them both, overall they have been wonderful experiences and the writing styles have been entertainingly dense... but if i don't read them during daylight hours, with a cup of coffee in hand, it means instant sleepytime.

the books: The Worm Ouroboros and David Copperfield.

I had/have the same problem with David Copperfield. I love it, but I've stopped about halfway through because it's just soooo long. I plan on picking it up again and finishing it, but other books keep intruding.

My niece loves those. They're very big in Hawaii. I've forgotten what they call them.

are you reading it for the Serials Serially group? that's why i picked it up. i'm really behind on reading & commenting in that group's various chapters this-through-that threads.

No, I just decided that I haven't read enough Dickens and figured it was a good place to start. I've read A Christmas Carol and abridged versions of Oliver Twist and Great Expectations, so I really need to experience more (complete) Dickens. I've given up any and all group reads for the time being, they make me feel pressured to keep up or slow down, depending on the nature of the group and its discussion.

Phil, Ha! I can spam my own books when I'm good and ready. Just give me time. I'm still thinking up creative thread names. That takes longer than writing a book for some of us.

The Longest Journey is a good book to read with coffee.
