Gillian Torckler | 1 comments Kia ora,
Inspired by other kiwis, I have recently joined his group. By way of introduction, I am brand new to Goodreads in 2012; I am an author (mostly non-fiction) based in Warkworth; and by day an academic. I read as much as I can and fit in some fibre craft when I can also.

I don't like to read fantasy (its just too hard learning about a new world so I can get lost in it!), but love contemporary, literary and historical fiction. I also really enjoy reading great non-fiction works.

regards
Gillian

Matt Hammond (httpwwwgoodreadscommilkshake) | 5 comments Hi everyone. Matt Hammond here. I'm just south of Richmond.

I'm just getting into Goodreads and thought I should join a few groups - including this one obviously!

My debut novel, an NZ-inspired eco - thriller 'Milkshake' was published in October 2011 and is available on Amazon:-

http://www.amazon.com/Milkshake-ebook...

as an ebook or hard copy. The Book Depository are also selling it and offer FREE worldwide delivery.

Reviews have been good so far. I notice Craig Sisterson is a member here.He gave me a fair review a few weeks back on his blog -

I'm currently working on the sequel and look forward to the activity here.

Cheers. Matt.

Janet Marshall (lizajanetstories) | 1 comments Hi. I am a NZ artist/author and new to this group. I have 5 children's books published, some of which are now out of print. Still in print is K is for Kiwi, an illustrated ABC on NZ flora and fauna and published by Puffin books (Penguin)
I have now published online a fantasy story called TANIWHA, written under the name Liza Fox. This story is set on the Takaka Hill, top of the South Island of NZ, in the karst landscape and marble cave systems, and is about 4 heroes attempts to stop an evil taniwha from destroying the countryside on the event of a summer solstice and full moon.
This is available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Sony, Apple, Kobo and Copia as an eBook.
I am also presently working on an eBook of my poems (Liza Fox) and an eBook of children's stories and poems (Janet Marshall).
I would love to share these books and look forward to anyone who may like to take the time to read TANIWHA and make comments. I am seeking feedback.
I look forward to finding other authors books of similar subjects to read.

Fredrik Brouneus (fredrikb) Hi,
I'm a Swedish writer living in Dunedin since 2009. My first English novel The Prince of Soul and The Lighthouse will be published in NZ in March. (There's currently a giveaway, if anyone should fancy a copy.)
My literary heroes are Douglas Adams and Terry Pratchett, and my two best recent reads are "Life" by Keith Richards, and "Selected Works of T.S. Spivet" by Reif Larsen.
Lots of interesting writers and readers in this group - look forward to interesting discussions.
Oh, and a big thanks to Tim Jones for his quote for my book - made my day!

Best,
Fredrik Brounéus

LadyDisdain | 3 comments Hi all
I'm a student majoring in English, and have done a few papers on NZ lit in uni. I'm actually loving it, as it's so different to the way it's taught in high school (read: in the most dull manner as is humanly possible) - so it's very refreshing to find out that it's so much more meatier and juicier than I thought. Anyway, I hope to join some good discussions around here.
