>>Then I will trust you to make my choice.<< she climbed onto a stool.

message 602: by [deleted user] (new)

He sat next to her. >>What kind have you drank before?<<

>>Nothing. The last time I was in full control of myself and wasn't pregnant I was only fourteen.<< she sighed.

message 604: by [deleted user] (new)

>>Then you can start of with plain beer.<< He called the bartender over and ordered two.

Eternal Werecat | 14174 comments Mod
>>Beer? I heard it was nasty.<<

message 606: by [deleted user] (new)

>>Or you can try a daiquiri.<<

>>What do you think I will like? I don't know.<<

message 608: by [deleted user] (new)

>>A daiquiri is more fruity, less alcohol.<< He looked at her.

message 609: by Eternal Werecat, Aunty Jess (new)

Eternal Werecat | 14174 comments Mod
>>I like fruity. Maybe that would be better.<<

message 610: by [deleted user] (new)

He turned back and ordered the strawberry daiquiri, pulling the beers in front of him. >>I'll drink these two.<<

>>How do you think He will feel about us getting married?<<

message 612: by [deleted user] (new)

>>He won't be happy, but he'll tolerate it now.<< He took a drink and the tender slid the cup in front of her. >>If you were still mortal, then he'd think that I'd take all of my time out for you while you're still alive.<<

message 613: by Eternal Werecat, Aunty Jess (new)

Eternal Werecat | 14174 comments Mod
>>So he'd accept it better if I were still mortal because he'd think that you'd just be tied to me until the day I die?<<

message 614: by [deleted user] (new)

>>Yes, we'd only have so much time, yet I'd always be distracted if he were to give me a job for the next century or so.<<

message 615: by Eternal Werecat, Aunty Jess (new)

Eternal Werecat | 14174 comments Mod
>>But now my mortality isn't in question and you no longer have to fret about me dying. If I could get my flying under control then I could come with you.<<

message 616: by [deleted user] (last edited Jan 03, 2013 10:08PM) (new)

He nodded. >>Now the positives outweigh the negatives. But He never did like my lovers, so be careful when you do come with me.<<

message 617: by Eternal Werecat, Aunty Jess (new)

Eternal Werecat | 14174 comments Mod
>>But I'll be your wife, that's different from being just a lover or a consort.<< she sipped her drink cautiously, then smiled and took a bigger sip. >>Not bad.<<

message 618: by [deleted user] (new)

>>You like it?<<

message 619: by Eternal Werecat, Aunty Jess (new)

Eternal Werecat | 14174 comments Mod
>>It tastes pretty good.<< she saluted him with the glass. >>Thanks.<<

message 620: by [deleted user] (new)

>>You're welcome.<< He smiled and clinked his mug with hers.

>>How would he feel if we had kids?<<

message 622: by [deleted user] (new)

He threw back another drink. >>He might want to recruit them.<<

>>I don't know that I can stand for that.<<

message 624: by [deleted user] (new)

>>Me neither, the best would be for him to stay out of their lives.<<

message 625: by Eternal Werecat, Aunty Jess (new)

Eternal Werecat | 14174 comments Mod
>>Him and Solaris.<< she agreed, finishing her drink.

message 626: by [deleted user] (new)

>>But how are we going to convince them?<<

message 627: by Eternal Werecat, Aunty Jess (new)

Eternal Werecat | 14174 comments Mod
>>No kids, babe. No worries.<< she told him.

message 628: by [deleted user] (new)

>>Not yet, anyway.<<

message 629: by Eternal Werecat, Aunty Jess (new)

Eternal Werecat | 14174 comments Mod
>>That has yet to be determined.<< She told him, raising a brow.

message 630: by [deleted user] (new)

He didn't reply and just drank until he'd finished the first.

>>So when are we dancing, Cor?<< she asked, reaching out to lay her hand on his.

message 632: by [deleted user] (new)

He turned his over and entwined their fingers. >>Right now, if you want to.<<

message 633: by Eternal Werecat, Aunty Jess (new)

Eternal Werecat | 14174 comments Mod
She smiled. >>I would.<< A young man approached, laying his hand on her shoulder.

"Yo, pretty lady, I claim this dance." He slurred, trying to drag her off the stool. Arrika`s eyes flew wide.

>>Cor!<<

message 634: by [deleted user] (new)

Corvus turned and simply slapped away the boys' wrist.

message 635: by Eternal Werecat, Aunty Jess (new)

Eternal Werecat | 14174 comments Mod
"Dude! What are you? Some kinda girl?" The young man turned to his buddies, who had come up. "Did you see that? He smacked me."

message 636: by [deleted user] (new)

>>Was that supposed to be some kind of insult?<< Corvus raised a brow at Arrika, ignoring them as he squeezed her hand.

message 637: by Eternal Werecat, Aunty Jess (new)

Eternal Werecat | 14174 comments Mod
>>Girls usually fight by slapping, scratching and pulling hair. It was an insult.<< She answered.

"Dude, no hogging the pretty lady." He grabbed her arm again and Arrika clung to Corvus' arm.

message 638: by [deleted user] (new)

>>He needs to stop touching you or he's going to get hurt.<< He slipped off the stool and pulled Arrika protectively against his chest.

The other three also grabbed onto her, trying to help their friend wrench her away.

message 640: by [deleted user] (last edited Jan 04, 2013 06:53PM) (new)

>>That's it.<< Corvus swung his free arm at the two nearest guys, making a quick sideways move to shove his shoulder into the third.

message 641: by Eternal Werecat, Aunty Jess (new)

Eternal Werecat | 14174 comments Mod
The first man managed to wrap his arms around Arrika's waist, jerking her from Corvus's grasp. "Easy, sweet cheeks." He squeezed her butt, making her squeak and tears fill her blue eyes. "No need to cause a scene."

message 642: by [deleted user] (new)

Corvus was about to grab the boy around the throat and beat him senseless when the owner came out of the back, wielding a shotgun. Apparently when the men had started crowding, the tender had gotten help to break things up.

She cocked the gun and glared at the boy holding Arrika. "Let the girl go and get your friends out of my bar."

message 643: by Eternal Werecat, Aunty Jess (new)

Eternal Werecat | 14174 comments Mod
He dropped Arrika to the floor, where she braced on her hands and knees, tears slipping down her cheeks. "It's her fault." He protested. "She put some spell on me."

message 644: by [deleted user] (new)

Corvus restrained himself and knelt down on the floor beside her. She turned it towards the ceiling and shot, pieces of it raining down. "Sure she did. Now GET OUT! You're not welcome back."

message 645: by Eternal Werecat, Aunty Jess (new)

Eternal Werecat | 14174 comments Mod
He stumbled back, his friends joining him as he hurried out the door. Arrika curled into Corvus' chest, hiding her face.

message 646: by [deleted user] (new)

"Evening, Corvus, sorry about that." She lowered the gun, hanging at her hip. Thank you. He mouthed to her and looked down at Arrika. >>Not all men are like that.<<

>>That makes six guys who have pawed at me like I'm a fuzzy toy.<< She slowly looked up at him.

message 648: by [deleted user] (new)

((was kinda babysitting))

>>I would've killed them.<< He held her around the waist and slowly lifted her to her feet.
"Who's this?"
My fiance, Arrika.
"Sorry to meet you like this, Arrika." She held out her hand. "I'm Calla."

message 649: by Eternal Werecat, Aunty Jess (new)

Eternal Werecat | 14174 comments Mod
She smiled shyly, reaching to shake her hand. "Nice to meet you, Calla. I'm sorry about that."

message 650: by [deleted user] (new)

Calla shook with a smile, then released her. "No problem. I won't tolerate men like them."
