He sat next to her. >>What kind have you drank before?<<
>>Nothing. The last time I was in full control of myself and wasn't pregnant I was only fourteen.<< she sighed.
>>Then you can start of with plain beer.<< He called the bartender over and ordered two.
>>Or you can try a daiquiri.<<
>>A daiquiri is more fruity, less alcohol.<< He looked at her.
He turned back and ordered the strawberry daiquiri, pulling the beers in front of him. >>I'll drink these two.<<
>>He won't be happy, but he'll tolerate it now.<< He took a drink and the tender slid the cup in front of her. >>If you were still mortal, then he'd think that I'd take all of my time out for you while you're still alive.<<
>>So he'd accept it better if I were still mortal because he'd think that you'd just be tied to me until the day I die?<<
>>Yes, we'd only have so much time, yet I'd always be distracted if he were to give me a job for the next century or so.<<
>>But now my mortality isn't in question and you no longer have to fret about me dying. If I could get my flying under control then I could come with you.<<
He nodded. >>Now the positives outweigh the negatives. But He never did like my lovers, so be careful when you do come with me.<<
>>But I'll be your wife, that's different from being just a lover or a consort.<< she sipped her drink cautiously, then smiled and took a bigger sip. >>Not bad.<<
>>You're welcome.<< He smiled and clinked his mug with hers.
He threw back another drink. >>He might want to recruit them.<<
>>Me neither, the best would be for him to stay out of their lives.<<
>>But how are we going to convince them?<<
He didn't reply and just drank until he'd finished the first.
He turned his over and entwined their fingers. >>Right now, if you want to.<<
She smiled. >>I would.<< A young man approached, laying his hand on her shoulder.
"Yo, pretty lady, I claim this dance." He slurred, trying to drag her off the stool. Arrika`s eyes flew wide.
>>Cor!<<

>>Cor!<<
Corvus turned and simply slapped away the boys' wrist.
"Dude! What are you? Some kinda girl?" The young man turned to his buddies, who had come up. "Did you see that? He smacked me."
>>Was that supposed to be some kind of insult?<< Corvus raised a brow at Arrika, ignoring them as he squeezed her hand.
>>Girls usually fight by slapping, scratching and pulling hair. It was an insult.<< She answered.
"Dude, no hogging the pretty lady." He grabbed her arm again and Arrika clung to Corvus' arm.

>>He needs to stop touching you or he's going to get hurt.<< He slipped off the stool and pulled Arrika protectively against his chest.
>>That's it.<< Corvus swung his free arm at the two nearest guys, making a quick sideways move to shove his shoulder into the third.
The first man managed to wrap his arms around Arrika's waist, jerking her from Corvus's grasp. "Easy, sweet cheeks." He squeezed her butt, making her squeak and tears fill her blue eyes. "No need to cause a scene."
Corvus was about to grab the boy around the throat and beat him senseless when the owner came out of the back, wielding a shotgun. Apparently when the men had started crowding, the tender had gotten help to break things up.
She cocked the gun and glared at the boy holding Arrika. "Let the girl go and get your friends out of my bar."

He dropped Arrika to the floor, where she braced on her hands and knees, tears slipping down her cheeks. "It's her fault." He protested. "She put some spell on me."
Corvus restrained himself and knelt down on the floor beside her. She turned it towards the ceiling and shot, pieces of it raining down. "Sure she did. Now GET OUT! You're not welcome back."
He stumbled back, his friends joining him as he hurried out the door. Arrika curled into Corvus' chest, hiding her face.
"Evening, Corvus, sorry about that." She lowered the gun, hanging at her hip. Thank you. He mouthed to her and looked down at Arrika. >>Not all men are like that.<<
((was kinda babysitting))
>>I would've killed them.<< He held her around the waist and slowly lifted her to her feet.
"Who's this?"
My fiance, Arrika.
"Sorry to meet you like this, Arrika." She held out her hand. "I'm Calla."

Calla shook with a smile, then released her. "No problem. I won't tolerate men like them."
