I'm on 29/100

Michael Cargill (michaelcargill) | 372 comments 29? I am gobsmacked at how that is even possible.

It's no more than four for me I am afraid!

message 3: by Melanie (new)

Melanie Cusick-Jones (melc-j) I've done 22 so far (just had to check the little widget thingy) - but I've cheated in the last week or so - I've read a few 'short stories' so that makes me feel much more successful :)

There's a girlie on the Never Too Old for YA group who absolutely hammers through books - I think she did around 30 this month for the dystopian challenge alone!

message 14: by Julie (new)

Julie Rainey Okay I feel terrible. I've only read part of one book this year and about four total last year. I'm just a slacker. :)

message 16: by Trisha (new)

Trisha (trishalynn0708) I just hit book 12... I went through a rough reading patch for awhile. Nothing was interesting enough for me to want to read and my husband and I bought our first home and that took a lot longer than I thought to move in! lol... But I have been on a steady reading climb. Since last week I have been reading a book every other day. Slow but steady. =)

message 17: by Julie (new)

Julie Rainey Not even a whole book yet, just a few chapters. :) That's my new mission, read more.

Ive had that, I once went a month without reading anything then I found the morganville series and read 11 books in a week and I was once again reading obsessively. You just need to find a really great book to start you off again. Might I suggest the hunger games :D

We will motevate you :)

message 20: by Julie (new)

Julie Rainey Sounds good. As an author though, I worry sometimes about unintentionally cross contaminating my ideas with ones I've already read about. I think I need to get over it though, I miss reading.

Emily V (xemilyx) | 687 comments Mod
I hate reading a book then thinking why didn't I think of that. Then you subconciously copy then realise and have to start again. Happens to me all the time.

message 22: by Julie (new)

Julie Rainey Glad I'm not alone. :)

message 23: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kielianne) 16 so far

One must read 8 hours a day. I squeeze it in with school, homework and chores and then stay up half the night reading. Normally I try and get a book a day. Sometimes I do others I do not. Pacing myself has never been a skill I possess.

message 38: by Michelle (new)

Michelle I'm just about on 9/15.. But in my defense, some of them have been large.. IE: Stephen King 11/22/63, more than 800 pages, Bag of Bones, more than 700 pages, Under The Dome, more than 600 pages and several from Mary Jane Clark which run from 300 - 400 pages. About to start Under The Dome which is more than 1000 pages....

Wow over a 1000 I've only conquered one of those in a day. (Its my goal in life to get 1000 pages in a day.)

112/300 BTW.

message 41: by Michelle (new)

Michelle I'm on my 12th, Under The Dome, by Stephen King, which I stopped reading for a while to read a couple of shorter books; Rooms and The Chair, both by James Rubart, in between. Other books I've read this year Stephen King 11/22/63, more than 800 pages, Bag of Bones, more than 700 pages, Duma Key, more than 600 pages and several from Mary Jane Clark which run from 300 - 400 pages.

Currently on pg 400 of 1000+ in Under The Dome.

Up to 70 now

message 46: by L (new)

L I have completely lost count of how many books i have read so far this year, as i think it could be quite a lot! My 'currently-reading' books take me ages because i am constantly being sent books to read (online or paperback/ hardback giveaways) to review for authors...my list is constantly growing!!

message 47: by Justin (new)

Justin (justinbienvenue) | 460 comments Not nearly enough. I've read around 5 or 6 which seems low but if you know me youd think it was an accomplishment. Given all the free time I really should read more

message 48: by Lynxie (new)

Lynxie | 12 comments Currently on 47/90. Dropped my goal this year given I'm back at school as well as working full time!

School eats into reading time so much!
