Stephen Saw the film Never Let me Go and it was devastating. I'm just starting this book but was wondering if anyone was familiar with the other work Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro is also on my reading list and would be curious what someone who's read both thinks.

Lori both books are hard to read. my sister's keeper where the younger sister was born specifically to be matched with her sick older sister to save Kate's life and give up a kidney.that puts questions in my thoughts of how much should a family member go through to help another family member. But Never let me go is just very frightening to think that humans can only exhist to be available for body parts until they die.I felt outraged for these characters lack of rights to live. it made me thing how anyone could be treated that way.

Deb They are very different stylistically. Some people think Ishiguro is a slow read, although I don't. I'll honest, I didn't care for the Picoult book because it felt formulaic to me. It didn't engage my mind or my emotions. Never Let Me Go, on the other hand, haunted me for weeks. The tone is unbearably sad, much like the movie.

brooke1994 Jodi Picoult is a good author, but sometimes she's a boring author. Don't take offense, my opinion. I loved My Sister's Keeper, though.
