Katz Nancy from NJ (nancyk18) Becky - I hope you don't mind I opened this folder since I couldn't figure out how to write to you individually.

OK - somehow my lists must have gotten confused and on the list you are scoring, #5 & #6 are the same title , Galway Bay. It should have been #6 The Rose Garden and #5 Galway Bay. I guess I could have waited to change this on April 15th, but I'm afraid I'll forget and who knows if I'll even reach these books.

Sorry and thanks

Katz Nancy from NJ (nancyk18) Now for my second question. I just finished listening to Room by Emma Donoghue. I looked up the number of pages from Good Reads and the book is 321 pages. Out of curiousity, I looked this up at Amazon and it is 417 pages. I wonder why there is such a great disparity. In any event, I will use the Good Reads number of 321.

Oh, weird. I dunno how that could have happened since I just copied and pasted entire lists, but I'll update.

Regarding the number of pages, I know that there are quite a few different editions of the book, so that could be the discrepancy, or it could just be incorrect. This is why we use the most popular edition on GR, to even the score a bit so that if two people read the same book but different editions, they'll get the same bonus score for it.

Katz Nancy from NJ (nancyk18) Becky - I don't think it had anything to do with you. I sometimes think computers have their own minds. In any event, thanks a million.

No probelm about the pages, I did use the number from Good Reads.

Again, many thanks for the most terrific job you and Jackie do.

Maude | 732 comments Becky, Can I read The Paris Wife instead of Jocasta since it will begin in April?

On the 15th you can switch out Jocasta for The Paris Wife, yes, but the bonus 20 points only applies to Jocasta. The points were to encourage participation in the Featured Author group read.

Maude | 732 comments Becky, Forgot about that - I will be reading Jocasta!

Holly Weiss (hollyweiss) | 278 comments On the April 15th day when we can adjust the order, may we swap one book on the list for something not on the original list?

Yes - you can rearrange not-yet-completed tasks, or exchange books as you like.

Katz Nancy from NJ (nancyk18) HELP Please

I am trying to add The Bungalow by Sarah Jio to books I am currently reading. Everytime I try to do this The Bungalow by Carolyn Keene is added. Now I am concerned once I finish it and want to add it to my books read for the statistics from Books Read in 2012. Can anybody offer any advice

Jackie (thenightowl) | 2033 comments Nancy, click on this link: The Bungalow: A Novel and then add it to your currently reading shelf.

message 12: by Nancy from NJ (new)

Katz Nancy from NJ (nancyk18) Thanks so much Jackie. I didn't realize I had to add A Novel.

message 13: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) | 2033 comments You're welcome Nancy. Sometimes when I can't find it by the title I'll put author instead.

message 14: by Nancy from NJ (new)

Katz Nancy from NJ (nancyk18) I tried that but for some reason it was only bringing up her first book Violets of March. It's funny the more I think I know about these websites the less I really seem to know. Again, many thanks for all of your help here.

LemonLinda (lwilliamson0423) | 626 comments Jackie, the book I am starting next is for our local book club this month. It was just published at the first of this month, but I had preordered and got my copy from Amazon. On Goodreads it has no page count, but the page count is 310 pages as I have the book in hand.

The author, Karen Spears Zacharias will be interviewed next Wednesday on NPR in DC and then will drive to NC for our book club on Thursday. Isn't that nice of her. The book is A Silence of Mockingbirds.

I just wanted to make sure the page count was verified as I am using it in the April challenge.

Jackie (thenightowl) | 2033 comments Wow, that's really cool of the author to do! The page count is fine. It shows on B&N: http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/a-sil...
