I have an ipad on which i read novels. I didn't think i would like reading digitally, but this winter was brutal and i didn't look forward to go trekking to the library every couple of weeks. I learned how to use the digital books that the library "loans" to patrons for two weeks. I fell in love with the Ovid ap. It is not as pleasant as holding a book in my hands and i don't read non-fiction, especially ones that are important to me on the ipad, those i want to buy, highlight and make notes in and although i know i can do that on my Kindle ap, its not the same as writing in a paper page book.
About a year ago, I got a Kindle Fire HDX 8.9. I love it! I have read more books since getting it than I think I have my whole life. I like the size most of the time but my husband has 2 kindles. One is about 6 inches and the other 7. He uses his smaller one to read and the larger one to check Facebook and email and play games. Sometimes I wish mine was a bit smaller when I've been reading a long time and I get tired of holding it.
There are cushions and cases you can get that will hold your kindle.
