If You Were a Fantasy Character What Would You Be

For some reason, I always classify people in the werewolves/vampires category.Generally people with tempers and warm bodies directly go to werewolf class and cold mean people are naturally vampires. Hahahah. Ok I'm weird. Anyways! There are so many more creatures out there! The Fae, dragons, demons, succubi, other wereanimals, witches, wizards! SO! I was wondering what everyone out there thinks of themselves.

You mean I'm not a fantasy creature? Seriously, I would have to be someone with a touch of evil, or at least the capacity - because that's something I won't experience in real life. Perhaps a shape-shifter - I like to sneak. Drinking blood and eating people doesn't appeal to me, though. Power, carefully hidden - an undercover Sorcerer - something along those lines.

While I would love to think I would be this awesome Elf (all stealthy and mysterious), I'm pretty sure I would be a Hobbit. Not one of those Hobbits who actually works in a garden and is productive like Sam. I'd be more like Bilbo between The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring where he pretty much relaxes, reads and writes.

I think i would be a Wizard, One of those old guys who reads a lot and never actually uses his powers.

I would love to be an Elf, using a bow and arrow and being all stealthy and aloof, that would be awesome

Lilyan, I thought Tom Bombadil as soon as I read that as well. I'd like to be a female version of him. I missed him in the movie version(s) of LotR.

I like Tom Bombadil too, had not considered LOTR characters when I chose the Discworld. But I still choose the Discworld. Maybe because the stories there are self-contained, and each book can stand on its own although having read them in order gives the characters more depth. Yeah, I'd still be a scribe, because I'd like having access to so much of the business of living and the intrigue among other characters. Think of the power of being able to read and write other languages and translate for the movers and shakers of the world, and for the ordinary people who make things happen in their own spheres. (Or discs...)

Dragon would certainly be my first choice, but I always fancied myself a mage of some sort. I like the mages in the Malazan books. Utilizing the warrens to draw power sounds pretty cool. Oh, and then theres the mistborn, another pretty cool way to use 'magic'. An elf would be pretty sweet, not only have magical abilities, but long life and bad ass fighters as well; thinking of someone like Drizzt or Legolas here.

What about bad guy style fantasy characters? Some series portray dragons as bad, but for pure bad assedness, maybe an Urak-hai.

I would love to be a fairy, nymph, or some sort of.... nature sprite? I would enjoy flying around all day enjoying the nature and environment around me... plus they are very mischievous creatures... and sometimes dark... which seems rather wonderful. :)

I would most definitely be an elf - particularly the fair, regal beings from Tolkien's world. I appreciate their graceful and majestic qualities. They are so similar to man - yet far beyond mortal kin in wisdom and agility. They are divine beings: connected with Nature and to each other.

I would be a warrior with heavy armor, nice winged helm, a fire-imbued longsword in one hand and an ice-imbued dagger in the other... or just a huge greatsword, something like Chaoseater from Darksiders... a brutal warrior with a couple healing spells and some spells for protection against magic... the kind that can withstand magic long enough to come close and chop off heads and limbs :D

Necromancer, but the modern understanding of the term with the undead creating not the guys who communed with the dead. I have a morbid streak and a lust for power but don't want to spend too much time with people. So figure army of different kinds of dead is perfect. Though must have real people to attend upon me. No zombies in the throne room.

I would like to be the sort of fun but dubiously loyal rogue, thief or assassin.

In reality, I'm more that sort of character where it is unclear whether I really am the best or if the prodigy is going to be better than me in the end. In short...I don't know whether i'm an Althalus or a gher but I'd really prefer to be a Silk.

Being terminally old-school (read LOTR in the 60s) and very interested in energy work, such as shamanism, I would certainly want to be Gandalf. Cliche, yes...but a valid and highly ethical persona. Not omnipotent but a powerful force for good. I also love the way that Gandalf is a humble "magician" wagonning around and doing fireworks shows for the folks, etc. in non-crisis times, as he keeps eyes wide open for developing trouble.

My other choice would be Arithon from Janny Wurts' Wars of light and shadow. He is a powerful mystic, magician, warrior, and string-musician, to which I also relate.
But I could do without the crushing burdens he carries so heroically.

I think I'd probably be a elf or fae of some sort, or a scholarly archivist with no magic skills, but knowledgeable about the paranormal world. In my dreams, I would love to be some sort of noble swordswoman warrior type.

I'd have to be a dwarf.

Dwarves are industrious and quite the hard workers. They can toil all day in the mines and still go out on field of battle to decimate. And they take that same work ethic to their drinking; ale is no match for these hardy stomachs!

Facial hair is prided among dwarves. And this goes for women too; no respectable dwarf would be caught dead out on the town with a beardless lass.

Their choice in weapons is unmatched. Axes, war hammers, and even helmets all come in handy. And a good dwarf is not afraid to use their teeth when needed.

If I was a dwarf I'd probably want a stable fantasy world to live in. A few adventures here and there are alright, but if I've got to be expected to leave my mines for a long time to save the world, well, thanks but no thanks.

Well, I don't know what I'd be, but the only fantasy world I'd want to live in is Middle Earth before the beginning of the Fellowship. Everywhere else is just too darn dangerous!

So I guess, I'd be a hobbit of the 'where's that dratted Mr. Baggins off to?' type.

I'd say I was a dwarf, just based on the fact I can be so damn stubborn (and hard-working). And I'm a geologist and quite at home in a quarry.
