Erica I am new to nook and was wondering if anyone could lend me these 2 books? Thank a ton!

Marisa are you for real?

Erica Of course. Why wouldn't I be??

Danielle yeah i'm with Marisa

Erica I guess I don't understand what the problem is?

breanna Erica just go to a library or buy it from a store or see if one of your friends have dont ask for it over the internet.

Erica Exactly, Maryam. There are 70 some odd people ahead of me at my library. And Breanna, if you weren't going to help there was no need to comment. So thanks for your input.

Helen Stevens I think the problem people have is that it would cost them money to mail the books to you. For instance, I could say yes, but mailing you the books would cost me more than the books themselves cost!

Try ebay - you can usually get copies of books pretty cheaply on there if you don't want to pay full price...

Anika I think she is talking about lending them over nook. Is that right? I don't think that costs any money. I would, but don't have the on my moms nook.

Erica Yes, that's what I was talking about. I wouldn't want or expect some random person to mail me their books.

Danielle ohhh..i thought that you wanted someone to mail you there books...sorry idk that you could even do that

Gretchen I just wanted to say I understood what you were asking. I don't have a nook but I got what you meant (since I actually read your whole comment before commenting). Hope you get to read them soon.

hmm. i thought that this was a pretty valid point. just go buy the book. i mean i dont know your finalcial situation, but you shouldn't go around asking strangers for things. I think this is an excellent series, which is a great addition to any library, digital or hard copy.

Gretchen FYI to those of you who think it is weird for her to ask, just so you know when you lend a book through Nook it will only remain on the other person's device for two weeks and then it expires. So why not ask someone to borrow it? It's not like she can keep it and steal it.

Hai well, this would have been of invauable importance in my quest to not look like a complete jerk.

=(

Marisa I'm pretty sure you can go to like a half-priced bookstore and get the whole series for like $10. I would just do that. Then you won't have a time constraint.

Jennifer You can borrow books over the nook? How cool is that!

Danielle ok it may sound stupid but what is nook?

message 19: by Hai (new) - rated it 4 stars

Hai it's like a kindle, except it's from barnes and noble, instead of amazon

Danielle hmm cool :) thx

Adam This whole feed cracked me up. I'm a kindle person so i knew exactly what was meant. I was on pinterest the other day I I thought it would be awseom to create a Kindle book board because then you could borrow books from other users. Erica if I had a Nook I woulld send it to you. I hope you found someone with an open mind.

what the heck? you can lend books on kindle?

Ashlie =( I'm sorry, I wish I could help, but they only just recently started the whole lending thing, so the books I bought before then aren't lendable (<--- Not actually a word) But sometimes you can go to the barnes and noble site and buy used copies for like really cheap =/

message 24: by Madelene (new) - added it

Madelene i have pdf's of the books will that do?

Erica I'm a kindle person too, but I have a nook app on my iPad so I would have borrowed either. And I would love to go out and buy them but I usually don't buy books because they can be pretty expensive. I usually get them from my library but the wait was so long and I didn't want to wait for it. I you have read the first one, it really leaves you hanging and you cannot wait to continue. And thank you Madelene, but someone has already sent me a copy of them!
And yes, you can now loan books on kindle!

Gretchen Adam you have a fantastic idea there. I would start that before someone else snatches it up and makes money off of it. Start your own page outside of pintrest using your own page where you can place Google ads and make a little money.

breanna Erica wrote: "Exactly, Maryam. There are 70 some odd people ahead of me at my library. And Breanna, if you weren't going to help there was no need to comment. So thanks for your input."

I was helping I said get it froma library. But it is stupid to ask to borrow books over the internet especially a book that some people cherish!

breanna oh sorry I didnt know what Nook was I thougt you were asking for someone to like mail it yo you lol

You might want to take your email down. You could get a lot of spam from that.

message 30: by Beth (new) - rated it 4 stars

Beth Lance Did someone lend this to you? I have a nook with both these books on it and will lend them if you still need them.

Sheila There are already multiple Kindle lending websites. There's a group here on Goodreads (http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/4...) as well as other sites, like BookLending.com.

I don't have a Nook, but I suspect sites exist for Nook format as well.

The problem for me has been, not all books are lendable.

Erica Beth wrote: "Did someone lend this to you? I have a nook with both these books on it and will lend them if you still need them."

Yes, thank you, someone else loaned them to me!

Meghan I was wondering if someone was willing to do the same for me. I have a kindle.

message 34: by Hai (new) - rated it 4 stars

Hai ditto. here i am buying books like an idiot!

i've already read these books from a hard copy, but i gave them away to someone as a going away gift, but i've been finding myself wanting to read them again over the last few weeks. so i might have to buy them in kindle form, maybe i'll post around and see if anyone wants to borrow them then.

Hai Heather wrote: "I downloaded a torrent from piratebay as well that has 2500 kindle books on it. There's another idea/way to get free books. I won't read all 2500, but there are some good ones on the list and all I have to do is transfer them to the Kindle when I'm ready to read them."

X__X

that's considered piracy. i think i've already done enough of that with music and movies in my day, i think i'm gonna try to do the right thing with the kindle at least.

Hai well, i just bought the book, send me a PM if you want to borrow it, im off to work now, but ill send it when i get home..

first come, first serve. for kindle.

Meghan Very sweet hai. I also bought 2 of the three. I have the first in paperback but the other two are in kindle form. I just finished catching fire so i am willing to lend it. Just send me a pm.

Amanda I didn't realise you could do that. That's actually a great idea. I don't own any ereader myself, just ibooks on the iphone, and I'm not sure if I'm willing to purchase one. I'm old fashioned I guess and prefer to hold the actual book in my hand. But an awesome idea all the same.

Hi Amanda. You can actually read kindle books on your computer, ipod, and iphone I believe. Amazon has free apps you can download.
I had the same view about real books until I got my kindle. I do feel a little sad that they will not get to be proudly displayed on my book shelf, but I don't have room for any more books at the moment. I love being able to take multiple books with me where ever I go without having to tote a backpack!

Ya they are a great idea that way. My friend was travelling for the last 8 months and her kindle was a blessing to her. I actually do have ebooks on my iphone with ibooks and I do occassionaly read them if I'm bored and I have a few minutes. I tend to just keep my favourite books on it and reread them rather then reading whole new books on it.

Kiri Try joining

http://www.goodreads.com/group/show/2...

theres a few ladies there with the series who can lend to you. Its also handy for when your looking at other books later on :) The group is amazing and always willing to help a fellow nook owner out.

i got my kindle about a month ago, and although i do enjoy it, nothing beats reading an actual hard cover book to me. (paperback, not so much). true, it's more convenient, but no where near as satisfying.

i actually have the first 4 books of the Song of Ice and Fire collection on my kindle, but i bought the final book in hardback just so i could enjoy it more thoroughly. and as i mentioned before, i bought the hunger games books again on kindle, and it's no where near as enjoyable as when i had the hard cover books.

meh, maybe i'm old and this is what happens to old people. we turn in to Giles. (kudos if you get that reference)
