I remain profoundly confused about that error, its origins, and what actually happened. But I don't care enough to investigate it further, which is the story now with 99% of all errors I see.

I think the sentence in question was originally meant to start "Zooey Deschanel left her husband, “Death Cab for Cutie" frontman Ben Gibbard.”
but was mistakenly altered to
"Zooey Deschanel left her husband “Death Cab” for “Cutie" frontman Ben Gibbard."
