Steve Evans (steveevansofpahiatua) | 4 comments Hi there have just become a librarian and the first book to cross my path has something wrong with it I can't fix: Karl Popper's Open Society and its Enemies v2 Routledge etc reissue ISBN13: 9780415278423. I'm not going to try so perhaps someone who knows how to do the progamming stuff will fix it up. Thanks. Steve Evans

Steve Evans (steveevansofpahiatua) | 4 comments When I call it up it's in a funny state unlike all the other books I call up, which are normal. The cover is there but there is a lot of other stuff as if there is a step missing before it is finished sort of style. But if there is nothing wrong for you, maybe it is just my problem though as all the other books are right seems odd.

Hailed by Bertrand Russell as a 'vigorous and profound defence of democracy', its now legendary attack on the philosophies of Plato, Hegel and Marx exposed the dangers inherent in centrally planned political systems. Popper's highly accessible style, his erudite and lucid explanations of the thought of great philosophers and the recent resurgence of totalitarian regimes around the world are just three of the reasons for the enduring popularity of The Open Society and Its Enemies, and for why it demands to be read both today and in years to come. This is the second of two volumes of The Open Society and Its Enemies.(less)
