dairy (dairymold) "Perhaps it was given away by someone."

digikids | 389 comments "I honestly wouldn't be surprised if my parents put it in the newspaper or something. They do stupid things like that."

527 emails.

"Holy crap. I... I'm sure this is going to be hilarious later but right now it's rather disturbing..."

message 554: by dairy (new)

dairy (dairymold) GLaDOS shuts off all power in the wing Liz is currently in, shutting down everything for an entire 5 minutes.

message 555: by digikids (new)

digikids | 389 comments "Wha...?"

Oh, yes. Overreaction; GLaDOS's solution to everything.

message 556: by dairy (new)

dairy (dairymold) "Oops. The ethernet cord on the surface must be currently being bombarded with heavy rain and thunder. My bad."

message 557: by digikids (new)

digikids | 389 comments "Was that really necessarily?" I said with a sigh.

message 558: by dairy (new)

dairy (dairymold) "Yes. It was."

message 559: by digikids (new)

digikids | 389 comments "Oh, of course it was, silly me! And it's not like I mind being in absolute pitch freaking black darkness for five minutes."I complained.

message 560: by dairy (new)

dairy (dairymold) "It could be worse. You could be in stasis."

message 561: by digikids (new)

digikids | 389 comments "As if you'll ever be getting me in one of those 'relaxation' chambers again." I hissed, very much wishing that I had never volunteered the fact that I was terrified of stasis.

My stomach chose that moment to rumble rather loudly.

message 562: by dairy (new)

dairy (dairymold) "Heard that," She quipped, referring to her stomach growling, "There's breakfast set out for you down the hall in the staff cafeteria."

message 563: by digikids (new)

digikids | 389 comments Although I was incredibly hungry after not eating anything since that sandwich, which was... well, I guess if you don't count the stasis, roughly a day ago, the thought of eating anything from down here made me feel sick.

I just kind of stayed on the chair, interlacing my fingers as I was reluctant to go eat because of my new-found paranoia.

message 564: by dairy (new)

dairy (dairymold) GLaDOS just gave a frustrated sigh at her paranoia, returning to her more important work, by her standards.

message 565: by digikids (new)

digikids | 389 comments "You're the one who did this to me." I said in response to her sigh, shooting a quick glare at a camera in the room.

message 566: by dairy (new)

dairy (dairymold) "That's great. You keep thinking that."

message 567: by digikids (new)

digikids | 389 comments "And you enjoy it, don't you? 'Paranoia is a wonderful thing.' You said it yourself."

message 568: by dairy (new)

dairy (dairymold) "It is indeed. And you should learn to love it."

message 569: by digikids (new)

digikids | 389 comments "Right. That means I'm going to stay hungry for the rest of the day."

I leaned back in the chair, a scowl on my face.

message 570: by dairy (new)

dairy (dairymold) "Oh, don't be like that. You'll end up starving yourself or passing out. Just go eat something."

message 571: by digikids (new)

digikids | 389 comments "Maybe that's the whole poi-"

PURRRR PURRR PURRRRR

I stared in mild shock at Ashley, who had spontaneously appeared out of nowhere and jumped up onto my lap, purring like a jet.

message 572: by dairy (new)

dairy (dairymold) "Really, I think it would be a wise decision of you to eat something."

message 573: by digikids (new)

digikids | 389 comments I frowned, but then got up, forcing Ashley to purr at me from the floor.

"Fine."

I headed out of the room, then towards a sign I saw further down the hall that read "Employee Cafeteria."

message 574: by dairy (new)

dairy (dairymold) GLaDOS mindlessly returned to her work

message 575: by digikids (new)

digikids | 389 comments [Thank you for putting the image of some kind of zombie GLaDOS in my head.]

I went into the cafeteria and started eating the food that I found set out.

Ashley, meanwhile, had wandered off and for some reason decided to go sit outside the door to the Central AI Chamber. She meowed once, insistently.

message 576: by dairy (new)

dairy (dairymold) "The domestic android was sure to pick up catfood while you were in stasis. It is in the pantry of the back kitchen."

message 577: by digikids (new)

digikids | 389 comments "'Kay."

Ashley started scratching at the door. [assuming it's closed, of course XP]

message 578: by dairy (new)

dairy (dairymold) GLaDOS' cameras glared at the cat, almost all at once.

message 579: by digikids (last edited May 13, 2012 11:43AM) (new)

digikids | 389 comments I finished eating, then got up. I looked around and noticed Ashley was nowhere to be seen.

Ashley paused when she saw all the cameras, then just laid down outside of the door.

message 580: by dairy (last edited May 13, 2012 12:37PM) (new)

dairy (dairymold) "You aren't going to let her in? I thought she was 'your baby' and all that." She mumbled, very confused, her statement ending flatly.

message 581: by digikids (new)

digikids | 389 comments [what.

Central AI Chamber door.]

message 582: by dairy (new)

dairy (dairymold) [oooooOOOhhhhhh I was under the impression the cat had not wandered off]

The cameras stared at the cat, a panel flicking her away from the door like a spider.

message 583: by digikids (new)

digikids | 389 comments Ashley gave a loud yowl as she flew through the air, and when she landed she took off at a run all the way back to where Liz was, just exiting the cafeteria, and jumped and clung to her shirt.

"What...?"

I detached Ashley from my shirt and cradled her in my arms.

"What happened to her!?"

[Weird awkward third person to first person... meh.]

message 584: by dairy (new)

dairy (dairymold) "Your cat was being obnoxious."

message 585: by digikids (new)

digikids | 389 comments I raised an eyebrow at a nearby camera, hints of a scowl starting to show on my face, and rubbed Ashley on the head with my thumb.

message 586: by dairy (new)

dairy (dairymold) GLaDOS gave a sneer, then remained silent before playfully nudging Liz with a panel to say 'sorry'.

message 587: by digikids (new)

digikids | 389 comments I rolled my eyes and went off into the kitchen of the cafeteria and found the cat food. I knew Ashley hadn't eaten in a while, so she was probably hungry by now. I put her down on the floor, and she immediately made a beeline for the bag of cat food.

Smiling a bit, I quickly found a bowl and poured some food in and set it down on the floor before she could try eating straight out of the bag. Ashley ran over to it, sniffed it, then looked at me and gave a small mew.

I sighed, reached into the bag and grabbed a little bit of food, and then held it out to Ashley in my open palm. She immediately ran over and started eating out of my hand.

message 588: by dairy (new)

dairy (dairymold) GLaDOS had a camera focused in on Ashley, "That's right. Eat. You animal."

message 589: by digikids (new)

digikids | 389 comments I smirked, and once Ashley had eaten all the food in my hand I pushed her back towards the bowl. She stared at me for a good half a minute, and then started eating out of it.

message 590: by dairy (new)

dairy (dairymold) "You're lucky I haven't done exploratory surgery on your feline friend, there."

message 591: by digikids (new)

digikids | 389 comments I gave a "don't even joke about it" glare to the camera in the room.

Ashley just continued eating.

message 592: by dairy (new)

dairy (dairymold) GLaDOS then gives a chuckle, "Of course, why do surgery on cats when I can do it on a human?"

message 593: by digikids (new)

digikids | 389 comments Scowling, I turned away from the camera and continued to watch Ashley eat.

message 594: by dairy (new)

dairy (dairymold) GLaDOS starts humming, the sound of turrets 'screaming' as they fell down the elevator shaft down the next hall.

message 595: by digikids (new)

digikids | 389 comments I went and leaned against the wall, trying to ignore everything outside the room, GLaDOS included.

message 596: by dairy (new)

dairy (dairymold) The ceiling of the mess hall collapses, hundreds of weighted storage cubes falling through the room above.

message 597: by digikids (new)

digikids | 389 comments I absolutely freaked out at first, almost falling down out of shock. Ashley was no better, and somehow managed to jump in a sink in terror.

Then I just stared through the door of the kitchen in shock at all the cubes, visibly shaking.

message 598: by dairy (new)

dairy (dairymold) "I wish those metal support beams weren't so rusty."

message 599: by digikids (new)

digikids | 389 comments "Yeeeeeaaaaah... that's a great thing to say to get me to dismiss this whole thing and trust you..."

Did she really think I was going to buy such a pathetic excuse!?

message 600: by dairy (new)

dairy (dairymold) (it really was, though. Ahee. Not her fault.)

GLaDOS ignored this accusation and tried picking them up with floor panels, which fell from above as well. She gave a noise like a frustrated growl and there was a noise like metal banging against something.
