Life of Pi *spoiler free*

So how is everybody getting on with it? I was up reading this until 3 o clock last night, when my eyes wouldn't stay open any longer, and I'm going to try and finish it now.

I love the way it keeps going off at a tangent to talk about different ideas, be they philosophical, psychological or religious. Normally this might irritate me as I'd be wanting to get back to the story but here it feels right. It's a book to take your time with. However, things get much more exciting about 1/3 of the way through, and that's when I didn't want to put it down.

Who else is loving Life of Pi?

I'm going to be reading this, but I still have a library book which I have to get through first.
(I got slightly derailed by re-reading all three of the hunger games books. I just couldn't put them down. again. maybe saying 'I swallowed them whole. yet again.' would be more accurate.)

I read the first one at one sitting the night before last and am now trying to show restraint before diving head first into the next one! They are literary pringles :-)

I have finally started pi today and am 100 pages in now, so far I find it enjoyable and very interesting. different than I expected, but then I'm a bit fuzzy on what I was expecting.

I've finished it now and I really liked it. this is the first book of the month I have participated with, so that's a little exciting, too.

I haven't read this yet, but I do have it. Do we think it is appropriate for an 11 year old to read?

I think there is a part quite near the beginning which is a bit violent. Anyone else remember parts for possible censorship? :)
