Exactly
Exactly

I like Gale, I like Peeta, but yes, Gale DID make the bombs that killed Prim! Gale-lovers, you are not from the story! He didn't break your heart! Stop whining and get back to reality!
Uh oh, charlotte is gonna tell you how it is!

well put.
Gale was always against the Capitol and for revolution, so he didn't really change, just became more intense about it with all that happened.

Finnick really was the one to keep her sane. I thought she would have like broken down when he died, but nope.

You made me laugh so hard.
Now....I am not commenting on all of those. Though I do wish I could because I want to start another argument, but alas I'm on a phone. XD
Keep discussing!! Charlie I love your input the most right now! You have true fangirl love.
Thanks Christi? And I'm more for Peeta. Finnick did keep Katniss sane, and Gale was a bit TOO intense for the likes of me. And Christi? Gingerpaw of SunClan? You read Warriors?

Oh wow! I used to be a clan. Made one up! Any groups I could join for Warriors?
Okay... We'll see if I like it.

*sighes* here goes. AGAIN. Okay. A, Coin put Prim in there, she dropped the bomb. Prim wasn't supposed to leave 13. Coin stole the Capitol hovercraft, COIN PRESSED THE BUTTON. You've heard all the comparisons, but here I go again: Someone invents a machine gun. Something that couldn't be used for anything besides killing people. Someone shoots someone with that gun. Who's fault is it? Also, Beetee was a big part in making the bomb, no one hates him! It was 95% Coin's fault, 4% Beetee's fault (he had a bigger part in making the bomb then Gale) and about 1% UNINTENTIONALLY Gale. Why he made the bomb at all: Do you really honestly think that the rebel army is going to defeat a huge army of peacekeepers who aren't afraid to kill, if the rebels don't kill? Because that is completely untrue. Someone would have to be brave enough to be the one to kill people (TODAY: soldiers that come back from Iraq, they killed people, to keep America free. We give them support, not hatred ((or at least we should))) Gale thought his bomb would destroy the Capitol. And if it had, we all be loving him, but since Coin didn't use it like that, now everyone hates him.
And thanks guys, I like being a devoted fangirl to something! Your comments are good!
You seem like a nice "devoted fangirl" but don't get too obsessed. And, it's been a few years since I last read the books...

Yeah, I just try to show people who hate Gale the other side of the story, you don't have to like him.
I'm not too obsessed, there's too many other fictional characters that I love to just choose one. Lol
I don't hate Gale... I truthfully was 50/50 at first, but I started to sway to the baker's boy.

On his love: I believe that Gale really did love Katniss in the first and second books- they were so close- it's clear to ..."
How does the saying go?
May the best man win?
Well.....the best man did IN FACT win!!!
And I will repeat, Gale SHOULD have died instead of Finnick!
And Charlie - YES, haters ARE gonna hate.
Accept it and move on!!!
It's only a book sweetie!
pmsl

This is the 1st thing Ive ever posted....I didn't know it had all 3 books. I thought you just talked about all the books.

Amanda wrote: "Gale is a fine character, but honestly, in book 2, he kind of turned into a crybaby. Katniss was going through a lot with Peeta and being victor, and Gale kept making her life more difficult instea..."
exactly how i feel
exactly how i feel

And like someone said before, it's not entirely impossible that Collins wrote Gale to be a jerk in Mockingjay (he kinda was.) There was a total disconnect from Gale: Book 1 and Gale: Book 2. If I was her, that's what I would do to garner support for the guy was going to win the girl and make sure there wasn't large scale backlash.

now thats just a false assumption. everyone is entitled to their opinion, whether it be team peeta, or wrong.

Maybe Gale thought Katniss really liked Peeta and didn't want to break them apart since Katniss was the only thing Peeta had since his whole family died in book 3. If they didn't die he would have probably try to get Katniss to love him instead of Peeta. That way Peeta could still havefamily so he wouldn't be lonely or have sucidial thoughts. Gale probably thought it was wrong to break the two of them apart because Peeta was going through tough times.

its plausable. but because he is a ficticious character one cannot assume, but can simply view the facts.

Wow...Hater in the flesh. I don't hate Gale as much as Peeta but still we all have opinions. If we don't like Gale then we don't. I don't have a team, so it doesn't matter to me about your assumption that we have to pick. What makes me mad is that you said in a previous comment that the haters left because they realized Gale was the one to love. Not true, its just for me that I don't have a computer just a phone so its hard to get on the internet and type up an argument. Wow, steam blown off sorry if that was rude...must be PMSing or something.

if he was not a important part of the story i would erase his lines and forget his punk arse

You just made me laugh. I'm trying not to get caught on GR at 11 when I have testing tomorrow. Anyway, you are obviously true. If people would stop with the love triangles he wouldn't even be there.

Start appreciating 'good' characters?!?!?!
Helloooo! Gale sucks lemons!!! PMSL
Collins knew that too! Probably why she left him in district 2.
If Gale was that great - He would have ended up with Katniss - not Peeta! Right?
Gale was Katniss' best friend - NOTHING MORE!!!
I left the discussion because I couldn't be bothered listening to people who thought Gale was 'the best'.
He's a FICTIONAL character.....my God - get over it!

Just get over it! I was giggling here in the dark at you just telling people off. Bravo!

Thank you Christi!
I'll probably get a load of back-lash for it later.
But I don't care! PMSL
It can be tiresome putting people in their places, but sometimes, I just can't resist.
;D

Complain all you want about certain people defending Gale and thinking he's the best but they're are allowed to. Yes, it's just a book and they're only fictional characters but so what? There is nothing wrong with it.
There is no need to come onto a discussion about Gale trying to put Gale fans in their place. Which by the way you didn't, so I don't why you think you're or why you're acting so high and mighty.
People really need to learn to stop trying to create so many arguements and just accepts people have different opinions and views.

This is Definitely the most mature comment on this discussion. Very true.
I hate I too, fair enough if people want to choose a team but people don't need to argue over it. That's not why this book was written :)

Complain all you want about certain people defending Gale and thinking he's the best but they're are allowed to. Yes, it's just a book and they..."
If you've read previous answers, you'd know EXACTLY what I'm talking about.
On a previous answer of mine, all I did was give my opinion, Some Hawthorne fan didn't like it. And I got a 'speech' too! They DID NOT respect my opinion, did they?
I'm NOT a big fan, unlike others on here.
I'm trying to teach them that life exists other than fictional characters.
Maybe you're one of these people! (OBVIOUSLY)
If you're so fixed on obsessing over Gale! Why not STOP reading, and go out and FIND someone like Gale!
(Gale's 'chosen one' WTF!) PMSL
And trust me sweetie - some people on here DO NEED to be put in their places.
Like I said, read previous answers!

Complain all you want about certain people defending Gale and thinking he's the best but they're are allowed..."
Yes I did read them.
You see that's the thing. You come on here acting all high and mighty like you think you're better than everyone and judging the shit out of everyone.
It's not your life, if people want to write speeches let them. What's the problem?
You act like your opinion is needed. No one needs you to judge them and try to tell them otherwise.
Yeah I have my name as "Gale's chosen one" your point is? What I'm not allowed too? If you judge people on that then there is something wrong with you.
This doesn't make me obsessed so get off your high horse and stop being so damn judgemental. Maybe you might want to look up the definition of obsession.
Who said I wanted to find my own Gale Hawthorne? Uh not me so there is no need to make stupid assumptions like that.
Yeah maybe some people do, but none of the ones like Charlie do just because she's passionate about something. Get over it. If anything people like YOU need to be put on their place, wherever that may be.
Like I said, I've read your comments. Doesn't mean you need to judge people and make stupid assumptions.

It's a discussion. People aren't going to agree with you and are obviously going to disagree. The difference is you are the one not respecting peoples opinions. You're the one who's going and judging people trying to "teach" them that fictional characters aren't real.
And What was it you said, uh that people who like Gale "screws are loose". Is that what you call respecting someones opinion? Ha, righto then. I don't recall anyone saying anything like that about you.

YESSS!!!THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I SAID TO MY FRIEND WHO HATES GALE WITH A PASSION! I totally second you on your opinion! :) But it was really stupid how he just left at the end. I really wish I knew what is goin on in his head.

Touched a nerve, have I?
I am literally PMSL here!
I'M all 'high and mighty?
you really need to look in the mirror sweetheart.
Get over it? I WAS NEVER UNDER IT!!!
This is what I'm trying to tell all psychotic Hawthorne fans! (i.e. YOU!) TO get 'over it'.
At the end of the day, it's ONLY a book!
There's no need to get so distressed and uptight about it!
I completely respect anyone who 'likes' Gale. But when I'm not shown the same treatment - THEN PEOPLE NEED TO BE PUT IN THEIR PLACES!!!
You don't like what I have to say on the matter, that's okay - I really couldn't care less.
But I can't stress enough how UNHEALTHY some obsessive fans can get over something so trivial.
And I ONLY mentioned your name because, well.....frankly.....that says it all!
I've clearly offended you (lol)
And I apologise (if that makes anything better)
But I still stand by what I said.
Like it or not!
;-)

Don't flatter yourself, it'll take a lot more than that to touch my nerves :)
Yes as a matter of fact. You're certainly acting like you think you're.
Ha I'm in no way acting high and mighty. Just stating an opinion.
Yeah "get over it" is what I said. Obviously it's a saying. I find it impossibe to think that you were ever under this discussion.
The reason why I said that is because you're complaining about people and judging them.
Oh yeah, I'm totally physcotic. That makes sense, I've definitely given you sooo many
reasons to think that. Whilst you are looking up the meaning of obsessive you should also look up the meaning of physcotic too. You act as if Gale fans are the only ones who can be obsessive.
Where in my comments have I said that this book is real? I'm aware that it's only a book. Doesn't mean I can connect with a character.
As I said no one ever disrespected your opinion on here in the first place. The way you're carrying on and trying to "put people in their place" for no reason is ridiculous. And the fact you actually think that you have put anyone in their place is hilarious.
You couldn't care less about what I'm saying? Is that why you're talking to
me?
Just because i have my name dedicated to a favourite character doesn't mean I have an unhealthy obsession. It's not like a sit at home all day googling Gale Hawthorne or have a Gale shrine or something on my wall. Far from that actually.
The fact that you think I'm a physcotic fan just amuses me. I know and understand the character, that's all. I relate to him. In case you hadn't realised but a lot of authors create characters for the reader to relate too, if the author can't accomplish that then they've failed.
Hahaha oh please- you've offended me?! I don't think so, again don't flatter yourself. You really are giving yourself far too much credit.
Don't mistake my arguementative and opinionated personaltiy for me actually being offended by someone like you. And by someone like you I mean someone who is so quick to judge and make assumptions about someone because of their username and love for a book series or character.
Don't worry, there is no need to apologize as I'm not offended :)

I would like to apoloqise again.....I didn't realise how old you were!
I'm normally on Yahoo! Answers, which contains more adult disscusions. I understand that you're considered an adult (in a sense of the word)
The fact that your name has anything to do with Hunger Games is quite funny! Don't you think?
I bet it's your favourite book isn't it?
And I bet you've read it multiple times too!
Although The Hunger Games is good. There are plenty of other books that are so much better!
I wonder why you're so attached to this particular book?
I do consider myself more 'well-read' than you.
And if that makes me 'high and mighty' then so be it.
You'll be the same with time!
6 years may not be a big difference to you....but I still see you as a mere 'child'.
And my life and prioties are completely different to yours.
I have offended you - otherwise you wouldn't have the need to 'defend' yourself.
You can call me what you like - trust me - I've been told a lot worse!
I also have a very argumentative personality. Well, growing up with 5 older siblings (4 brothers + a sister) it's hard not to be.
Funnily enough, I'm trying to be nice - but I have been told that I come across a bit......'rude' at the best of times.
LOL
I actually feel guilty arguing with a teenager.
By rights, I should know better.
So for that reason Amanda, I won't be continuing the discussion with you (think what you like)
But I don't argue with young'uns!
Good day to you!
