At first I thought that Gale was more like Katniss brother. when we found out about him faling in love with Katniss i didnt know what to... do. butt after a while he got mean i think its cuz he was jelous of Peeta. but in a way i felt bad for him.

I dont dislike Gale but his priorities were revolution not Katniss and I felt he thought after he struggle should would be the same way

Gale was always against the Capitol and for revolution, so he didn't really change, just became more intense about it with all that happened.

We give them support, not hatred ((or at least we should))) Gale thought his bomb would destroy the Capitol. And if it had, we all be loving him, but since Coin didn't use it like that, now everyone hates him.

I liked the character of Gale in the beginning but through out the story his character became less likeable. But I would have liked to know what had happend to Gale in those 15 years.

Personally, while reading the Hunger Games, I was really torn between Gale and Peeta. Gale had a whole friendship with Katniss and cared about her WELL BEING. Peeta, on the other hand, cares for Katniss in every form possable. Even after he had been injected with venom and thought Katniss was this terrible killer. In Catching Fire, i belive that Gale was becoming very jealous of the time that Peeta is spending with Katniss, but not actually missing her. Gale has been the present force in all the books, and still in the end, he leaves to district 2. If Gale really did care for Katniss in a romantic way, he would have never let Peeta get as involves as he did with her.

Charlie I'm with you! And like someone said before, it's not entirely impossible that Collins wrote Gale to be a jerk in Mockingjay (he kinda was.) There was a total disconnect from Gale: Book 1 and Gale: Book 2. If I was her, that's what I would do to garner support for the guy was going to win the girl and make sure there wasn't large scale backlash.

If they didn't die he would have probably try to get Katniss to love him instead of Peeta. That way Peeta could still havefamily so he wouldn't be lonely or have sucidial thoughts. Gale probably thought it was wrong to break the two of them apart because Peeta was going through tough times.

Gale is so self centered it is not even funny. From the middle of the 2nd book he only thought about himself and nobody else. Peeta is the best!!
I like Peeta way better. I agree that Gale sometimes seemed self-centered. Although he did help save Katniss's life and her family's tons of times. And they were good hunting partners, it's just he made everything worse for her. So I didn;t like Gale as much either.

Wow there is no need to "put people in their place". Complain all you want about certain people defending Gale and thinking he's the best but they're are allowed to. Yes, it's just a book and they're only fictional characters but so what? There is nothing wrong with it.
There is no need to come onto a discussion about Gale trying to put Gale fans in their place. Which by the way you didn't, so I don't why you think you're or why you're acting so high and mighty.
People really need to learn to stop trying to create so many arguements and just accepts people have different opinions and views.

If you've read previous answers, you'd know EXACTLY what I'm talking about.
On a previous answer of mine, all I did was give my opinion, Some Hawthorne fan didn't like it. And I got a 'speech' too! They DID NOT respect my opinion, did they?
I'm NOT a big fan, unlike others on here.

Well about Gale... my opinion on him shifted with every scene he apeared in. But I never compered him to Peeta. I don't realy know whay but I didn't think he woud end with Katnnis. Insted of that I grow founder of Finnick. So in the scene where he was killed I kind of wished Gale woud take his place and stay behind. I don't want to be mean, it woud only give Gale some purpose and in the end (witch was kind of depresing becouse of so many deaths)story could have other happy ending. That's Finnick bayb woud have a father and surley with that Katnnis would gain one more person, friend who understands her. Gale lost that conection with her beacouse he never played in games.

Just because i have my name dedicated to a favourite character doesn't mean I have an unhealthy obsession. It's not like a sit at home all day googling Gale Hawthorne or have a Gale shrine or something on my wall. Far from that actually.
The fact that you think I'm a physcotic fan just amuses me. I know and understand the character, that's all. I relate to him. In case you hadn't realised but a lot of authors create characters for the reader to relate too, if the author can't accomplish that then they've failed.
