I finished it May 10, 2010. and gave it three stars. The concepts where intersting but I found the language a bit confusing. Minho and Newt are my favorite characters, didn't care much for Thomas (found him a bit annoying with his useless questions) The idea for the maze was really fun and going along for the ride and trying to figure it out. The ending was sad, but now two years later I'm reading the sequel which is slightly better once you get past the first 40 pages.
My best friend gave me this book for Christmas. I keep on looking at it and thinking, Distopian YA...I guess I'll just have to bite the bullet and start reading it.
I loved this book as well. I totally didn't think that Thomas had useless questions. I felt like I would be right there with him asking those same questions, granted if no one has the answers then no has them, but sometimes you still have to ask them or go insane.I thought the maze idea was quite interesting. Spoiler for the rest of the series: (view spoiler)
Sadly to say I have not read this book. At the library everybody keeps reading this book, and I'm left in the dust. Looks like now I will be able to read the book and get what the whole hullabaloo is about!!
I hadn't planned on reading this book, but when it came up for BOTM, I figured I would give it a shot. Honestly - didn't enjoy it. There were a lot of "holes" in it, and it just didn't really keep me entertained.
I picked it up yesterday and quickly put it down. I will try to pick it up again. I wanted to read it for BOTM.
I just finished this book. It took me a litle while to get into it and I felt a little detached from it all, but it was enjoyable anyway.

Not sure what other stores sell epub books although I should really know since I have a Nook....

I am almost done with it, and I have to start the second right away :D
It took me a few chapters to get into it, but once I did, I really enjoyed it. Will definitely be reading the sequels.
i read it bc it was BOTM and i finally finished it last night.... it took me a while to get into it, but i did enjoy it and once it started getting exciting i didnt want to put it down. i love the new vocabulary although it was a lil confusing at first. i think thomas had all the questions that as a reader i had, and it helped to kinda see what they went through, i dont think there dumb questions. anyone in his possition would want some answers.
surprisingly i didnt cry when chuck died.
cant wait to get the next one
I got so into the first one, that i quickly finished 2 and 3. I am pretty excited about the book before Thomas went into the maze... I love this series
This book is hard to describe for me. I wanted to stop reading it so many times. But for some reason I kept plucking along at it. And then BOOM!!!.... I totally got it.
For me it was written in the same way as how Thomas was feeling. When I was reading he had no clue what the H-E-double hockey sticks was going on, just like I had no clue what was going on. But once Theresa showed up... that's when it all starting clicking for Thomas and me and I couldn't put it down!
Dashner is a genius! I've finished the series and am looking forward to the prequel...how it all started.

Thats exactly how i felt
OH MY GOSH! I LOVE this book so much! I think it was so creative and so original! I was so blown away. I knew when I read the description that it was going to be something that I would love. I had to wait a while to actually own it but it was so worth the wait! I am in love with this trilogy!!!
the prequel to the maze runner trilogy was such a let down to the stories. totally enjoyed the trilogy and was looking for a story on how it all started .. but the prequel was before that!
The author did say that the trilogy pretty much told you what happened to cause The Flare. The prequel told the story of how they came upon the decision to infect everyone with it. It would've been pretty redundant to me otherwise.
I really liked the Maze Runner, and The Scorch Trials and The Death Cure are equally good! Very intense and exciting!
I loved this trilogy and I'm now reading the Death Cure, the prequel. Every bit as intense as the other books. I liked that it had a male main character, which seems a bit hard to find in YA these days, or maybe its just how I'm choosing books :-). Enjoy!
