Testing the Waters

So, it's actually an idea I've bounced around for a while, and after reading the "Fantasy authors wanted" post that I was sadly too late for, I thought I'd throw out a test balloon to see if there's anyone in this group who would be interested in this kind of project:

Creating a communal fictional world where a group of writers write stories in that world, stand-alone but loosely interconnected, to be released together. I'm thinking length is variable: some short stories, maybe some novellas, or in between, etc.,

what a neat idea! I don't think I could contribute as it is fantasy, but a group of writers combining stories is a great idea

It wouldn't necessarily have to be fantasy. A group could decide what kind of world they wanted to write it, or maybe not a world but a scenario.
