OK, the 2024 theme read subjects are as follows:Feb. - The interwar years (any country) and/or the rise of the war leaders
April - Eastern Front Theatre during 1944 (land, air or sea)
June - D-Day and/or Normandy Camp.
Aug. - Italian Theatre during 1944 (land, air or sea)
Oct. - Biography of WW2 personality
Dec. - Pacific Theatre during 1944 (land, air or sea)
Now within these theme's the subject you choose to read about can encompass social issues, battles, weapons or people/countries, anything really, as long as it fits in within the overall theme title, i.e.; Eastern Front.
Does anyone have and issues or questions in regard to the forthcoming themes?

Nice selection, AR. I'm heading Down Under in a bit over a week, so I'll be tackling a book on the Italian campaign for the flight over, but I can always find another one for August!

'Eastern Approaches' by Fitzroy Maclean records his experiences of the Stalinist trials of the late 1930's and as the British liaison officer with the Yugoslav Partisans. I bought a POD copy. He records the establishment of the Allied fleet and air base on the island of Vis in 1944. Vis remained the only unoccupied island in the Adriatic. I visited it last April. Here is my account of Tito's war cave. https://mwalkeristra.blogspot.com/202...

OK, it's that time of year again were group members can suggest some themes for group reads in 2025. We will be conducted theme reads every second month starting in February.
So hit me up with some suggestions covering WW2 topics we can conduct a theme read on.
1. Latin America's contribution to ww22. battle of El Alamein
3. biography of a ww2 spy of any nationality
4. British Indian army's fight in Imphal Kohima front
5. Air battle between Germany and England/ USA and Japan
6. Biography of submarine captain of any nationality.
7. Any minor unknown battle of WW2

Good recs, Dipanjan. In particular I like Nos. 1, 4 and 7.
Good recommendations. How about:-Any campaign/battle in 1945 (80th anniversary)
-Development and/or employment of the atomic bomb

Good.
Here are a few suggestions:1. pilots/aircraft units on the Eastern Front
2. Rescue missions in WWII
3. WWII historical novel
4. Biography of any WWII person/company/etc.
5. Anything about the Eastern Front
6. POWs during WWII

Second that, we'll be inclined to read 80th anniversary subjects.

I would suggest something similar. Okinawa, Atomic Bomb, Bombing of Japan, Battles of Berlin, Budapest, Vistula - Oder offensive.
- Ending of the War/aftermath of the war
Thanks for those suggestions Perato.I'll try and put up the list of 2025 theme reads as soon as I can.
I will get the theme reads organised in the next day or two. I have been busy is packing books and moving some to storage and others into the garage annex to sell or give away - a lot of hard work - physically and mentally :)
Here are the suggestions for the 2025 theme reads:Feb. - Pacific Theatre 1945 (land, air or sea)
April - Little known subjects - Latin America's contribution to WW2, a minor battle of WW2, WW2 spies and spycraft
June - Battle of Kohima
Aug. - Eastern Front 1945 (land, air or sea)
Oct. - WW2 Air Warfare
Dec. - WW2 Naval Warfare
One thing to be aware of is that my level of participation may be limited during some of these months due to packing up of my house, selling and moving and with stuff in storage. I will have access to some of my books but not all as a lot have to be sold or given away as part of the downsize. Plus, Oct-Nov I will be overseas.
Nice list. This year I would like to read 3-5 ww2 fictions. Generally I prefer ww2 nonfictions. But I would like to explore the fiction genre.
