Perfect choice. I will set up the theme page very shortly and send a group message with the details & link.

I have that same book waiting in the wings for the group read.

At Goodreads (the company) we had a book club for really long books and we read War and Peace, this was the next pair of books to read.
I no longer work for Goodreads but I thought I’d search for other potentially interested discussants.
There could be up to 5 meetings to help pace the book for the group.

Hi Jeffrey, let me know if you get enough interest and I will set up a thread for you to moderate the group/buddy read.

the June 2022 theme read page is up and running just in case anyone wants to get an early start. The theme is any book or books of your choice that covers 1942 Russia - Case Blue, Siege of Leningrad, or the Battle of Midway in the Pacific. You book can be fiction or non-fiction as long as it covers the theme:

The August theme read which covers Operation Pedestal (Malta), or Op. Jubilee (Dieppe), or the Kokoda battles of 1942 is now ready for discussion. You can read any book or books of your choice that covers one of these topics, including novels:

Lots of good ideas there. Others to consider would be Operation Chastise (the Dambusters Raid), the Battle of the Bismarck Sea, the Schweinfurt/Regensburg Raids, and maybe Bomber Command's campaign.
Since there are recent books about the first two I mentioned, I already have those set up for 2023!

Feb. - The end of the Guadalcanal campaign and/or Battle of the Bismarck Sea
April - Warsaw Uprising and/or partisan/resistance Ops.
June - Kursk 1943 or Sicily and/or Italian campaign.
Aug. - Allied Air Ops during 1943.

Due to the fact that I will be overseas during this period I may not be able to participate in the theme directly, but I will be keeping tabs on the conversation.

Sweet, time for a little light reading at Aussie's place.

Forget the books, go for the wine cellar."
Don't like wine. I am only interested in sitting in his comfy chair and reading some books I don't have access to. I am a very polite, uninvited guest. LOL

The October theme read page is open and ready for discussion. I have broadened the theme to cover any Pacific War battle that occurred during 1943:

We will conduct a theme read every second month starting in February so we need 5 suggestions as I have already allocated June for books on the Normandy campaign.
Suggestions/ideas for the other theme months????
