"I'm fine, you don't have to make anything for me." She called back as she made a mad dash for the door. Bear noticed her energy and followed, wondering what was up. She swung open the door and closed it behind them. Standing outside, she scanned the door. "It looks like a small button.." Little Kendal remembered out loud. After a short while she found what she was looking for and pushed the door bell, listening to the chime like ringing that echoed from within the house. With wide eyes full of excitement and a touch of confusion, she pressed it again. And again. And again. Eventually she was pressing it so fast that she could only hear a part of the first note before it started over. She giggled and turned to Bear. "That's so cool!" She exclaimed. The dog looked back and wagged his tail. Skipping back into the house, Kendal could smell the food from the kitchen.
Lilia padded after Kendal and Bear, her tail was wagging happily and her tongue was lolled out the side of her mouth. Cecily was in the Kitchen cooking some food for the both of them and She had already set out an extra bowl of dog food for Bear. She smiled and continued to cook for both her and Kendal, even though the child had told her that she was fine. She looked over and Saw Kendal and the Dogs coming inside. "You like the Doorbell?" She called out from the kitchen with a grin, amused by Kendal's growing wonder for the way her home worked.
"Yeah!" She answered happily. "I've never seen one before, only heard stories. It sounds different from what I imagined." She looked at the large amount of food. "Whoa, do people normally eat this much?" She didn't know, since she had only ever visited with people traveling who normally packed light. "That's rather odd." She blurted out without thinking. "Well, odd as in interesting, not in a rude way..." She added hastily. She put her fingers on the edge of the counter and stood on her tip-toes to rest her chin on the back of her hands. Her eyes were wide as she stared. She felt like Alice in Wonderland, a story a traveler had told her not too long ago. He was a merchant who had declared he would visit her again the next year on his route. He also promised to give her a copy of the book. Being a merchant, he had come by a few times a year and taught her how to use a two-handed sword and given her Atropos. She pouted, forlorn and with a bit of disappointment. Guess I won't be seeing him again..
Cecily laughed a bit. "I decided that you might want some too." She said as she continued to cook. "You told me that you didn't need anything...but I beg to differ." She looked over at Kendal with a smile. "Oh. And I put some extra food out for Bear as well. It's in the bowl on the ground next to Lilia's." She explained.
Kendal's expression dropped a bit when she was told that some of it was for her. She figured she could handle it... He shuddered at the thought, but she plastered on a fake smile. "-Er, thanks..." She said grabbing her plate. She made her way to the table and sat down, staring down at her food, willing it to disappear. Bear bounded up wagging his tail softly and lowered his head, eating hungrily.
Cecily smiled, not realizing that Kendal didn't want food for a different reason. She smiled at her and then grabbed her own plate, then sat down at the table as well.
Kendal took up the fork and stabbed at her food a bit. Her stomach growled loudly, but not because of the scent of the home cooked meal. Not wanting to offend her host in this strange new 'Wonderland' she took a bite with her eyes closed. I am Alice. She thought, forcing herself to eat everything on her plate. She pretended that she was eating the 'eat me' cake and tried not to look at it. Bear finished his dinner and shuffled over to Kendal, resting his head on her lap.
Cecily ate her food as well, finishing up quickly. She looked over at Kendal with a smile and got up to take their plates when she was done. She took them to the sink and then proceeded to wash them and put them in her dishwasher.
Kendal could feel her stomach raging a bloody war. Her insides revolting against the foreign invasion. She held her gut tightly. Bear looked up, concerned. Kendal's eyebrows knit together and her stomach was making loud growling noises. Kendal groaned along with it, quietly, trying not to worry Cecily. Hindsight bias scolded her mentally. Well that was stupid. She thought. She had tried food before, from the merchant. She didn't know how she would react at the time. It tasted great the first try, but after knowing what was to come eating became painful. She willed the meal to stay down.
Cecily hummed lightly as she cleaned the dishes from making the food. As soon as she was done, she headed back out into the room where Kendal was and almost freaked out. "Are you okay?!" She asked and quickly ran over to her. "What's wrong?" She asked her, worried for the child. Cecily was good at seeing things, at the worst and most crucial times though. It was a hopeless disaster for her and the people close to her.
Moving like a complete drunk, Kendal weaved roughly and messily out of the chair. Swaying and holding her mouth, she made a mad dash for the rest room. Bear was close behind her running just behind her heels. She arrived at her destination just in time. She couldn't count on her will for this one. Dinner had lost to her digestive track and the score was home: one visitor: zero. After puking her guts out, Kendal washed her face in the sink and slowly made her way back out to Cecily. Her pale blue face even paler than before. "Sorry," She apologized sincerely. "I couldn't do it.."
Cecily sighed as she leaned against the door frame. She glanced over at Kendal, "You look as pale as a ghost..." Sort of... She said. "You should probably get some rest..." Her tone was very apologetic. She had not wanted to hurt the Child, just get some food into her. But now she knew that she didn't need the traditional food.
To make matters worse, Kendal's stomach growled loudly. She shook her head. "I'm fine." She sort of shuffled away with Bear to look around the house some more. She eventually ended up laying on her stomach next to Bear, watching the spiders crawl up the wall of the room she found previously. The little creatures reminded her of the forest and she took a bit of comfort from them. She hadn't eaten in a long time. She didn't want to. Even when opportunities presented themselves she would deny herself. She was simply a monster. Even with going so long without substance she still wouldn't die. She looked at the purple dinosaur she had drawn on her arm. "We should hurry and find another forest." She told Bear. "We can't trouble Tailed Girl too long." It was the closing of the first day, but she didn't want to burden her host. Even if the loss of her home was partially her fault.
Cecily sighed, worried about Kendal still. The child had rejected her help from this point on... She walked to her room then grabbed a towel and a washcloth and proceeded to walk to the bathroom. She first knocked on the door to the room that Kendal was in. "I'm getting in the Shower, If you need anything, That is where you'll be able to find me." She said and then walked into the bathroom, closing the door behind her.
Kendal shouted 'okay' after Cecily had knocked. She debated whether or not to slip out, but decided against it. The whole reason she was placing this burden on the Tailed Girl was mostly for safety. If she couldn't have her forest she wanted to be brought to another one, with no scratches or lost limbs on the way. She swung her book back around her waist to get a better look at it. She then pulled out the purple sharpie she had gotten from Cecily. Kendal still owed her one favor.
Cecily took a quick shower and then got out, drying off and then switching on her hairdryer and proceeding to dry her short hair. The ends flipped up as she brushed it while she dried it at the same time. She then took the brush and proceeded to brush the fur on her ears, making sure that it didn't fluff up too much.
Kendal had fallen asleep on the floor, her head resting on Bear. She breathed deeply and her stomach rose and fell at a slow, waltzing rhythm. Bear kicked his leg a few times while he slept, but managed not to hit Kendal. The day had been a rather long one, and she needed time to rest. Her mind had worked hard to process not only the new world she found herself in, but her plans to get back to safety. She slept, in a deep state of unconsciousness.
Cecily walked out of the bathroom and looked around to see if Kendal had reappeared. She hadn't. Looking in most of the rooms, Cecily found Kendal in the last room on the right. She had gone to sleep on the floor, and if the child slept there all night, Kendal would catch a cold. Cecily smiled gently and walked into the room and gently picked her up and moved her to the bed and put her under the covers, then she patted the end of the bed, making sure that Bear knew that he could go up on the bed as well. Lilia bounded in at a sleepy trot and she climbed up onto the foot of the bed and curled up into a ball after turning some circles and laying down.
Kendal slept soundly as she was carried to the bed. She twitched as she was picked up, but didn't wake. Bear followed Cecily as she carried his human companion. After Kendal was set down, Bear jumped onto the bed and curled himself around Kendal, as they always had in the cramped tree.
((I don't think I will tell of Kendal's dream, so I don't have much to write about besides this. Sorry Shadow.))
((I don't think I will tell of Kendal's dream, so I don't have much to write about besides this. Sorry Shadow.))
Cecily smiled at the two, and then at Lilia as she walked out of the room and shut the door behind her. She then walked to her own room and climbed into her bed after shutting the light off. She curled up under the covers and closed her eyes, thinking a whole lot about the day's events.
The next morning Kendal awoke in something warm and soft. She stretched and then bolted awake. Kicking off the covers and using the headboard of the bed, she tossed her self to the other side of the room. She messily clawed her way toward a corner and sat there, holding her knees. Where am I? She asked herself. Blinking and scratching her head, she tried to remember. Then it all came back. Everything that had happened the previous day in painful detail. "Oh yeah.." Kendal muttered under her breath. She stood up and walked slowly back to bed, as if walking away from a grave.
((Wow Kendal XD))
Cecily had woken up around the time that the Sleeping hours were ending. She opened her drapes and then oddly enough, moonlight filled up her room. It was gentle and inviting and she could nt wait to leave the house and go see it for the first time in months. She had remembered that the day before she had acquired a small guest in her home, so she was not going to leave until Kendal had awoken. She heard some movement coming from the room that the child was in, but she decided against barging in. Kendal would come out when he wanted to.

Kendal fell a sleep for a bit longer before waking a second time. This time she awoke she didn't create such a fuss. She slowly got out of bed and went to the window. She yanked back the curtains, although not very gracefully, and opened the window. She stood on the windowsill and then lowered herself into a crouch. she rested her arms on her knees and watched the outside world. Cities were odd little communities. They reminded her of a bee hive or an ant hill.
Cecily opened the door that led into the hallway and walked into the bathroom while stifling a slight yawn. She closed the door behind her and then proceeded to splash water on her face to wake herself up. It worked. She shook her head a bit to remove the water. It's droplets flew off of her face as she shook her head rapidly. She then dried off the rest of her face with the towel that she had left hanging up in the bathroom from the previous evening's shower.
Kendal quickly and quietly jumped from the window and landed in the yard on her feet. She stood up and started to explore a bit, but made sure so as to not go to far. She climbed the non-monster trees. She eventually settled into one and leaned back onto a branch. The sky was so dark. She couldn't imagine it any differently.
The moon rose over from the other side of the house slowly, revealing the beauty of the giant white sphere. It only showed up every so often in the general world, but in some places, it was always there. Here was not one of them and it was a rare phenomena. It was a brilliant white and you could clearly see the moon at the time.
Kendal looked up at the moon, a bit confused, but awed at the same time. It was so big and beautiful. Truly breath taking. She sat completely still and breathed deeply. She didn't want to move. She felt at home in the tree. she would have to get used to wonderland though. It didn't look like she would be headed back anytime soon.
Cecily made only herself breakfast and then ate it while she sat out on the front porch and ate in silence as she watched the moon in the sky. She finished not long after and set her plate next to herself and stayed where she was for a bit longer.
Kendal, losing interest and wanting to see Bear, slid down and headed for the house. She smelled the food as she opened the door. The scent had wafted around the house. She didn't understand how something that smelled so good could make her so sick.
Lilia bounded over to Kendal and looked up at her, wagging her tail. Her tongue was lolled out of her mouth and she looked like she wanted something. She had the 'puppy begging' eyes plastered onto her face.
Cecily stayed outside and then after a few more minutes, picked up her plate and walked back inside the house, taking her plate into the kitchen.

Kendal looked down at the dog and grinned. "Whatchu want, dog?" She asked excitedly. "I don't have any food for you, pal." She informed him regrettably. She reached over and scratched her behind the ears.
Lilia wagged her tail and barked happily, she pushed her head up against Kendal's hand, loving the scratches that she was receiving behind her ears.
Cecily put her plate in the dishwasher and started it up, because it was full.

Kendal wondered if the dog knew any commands. She had never taught Bear, although he seemed intelligent enough to get the meanings. It was rather odd, but everything in the whispering woods was that way. "Sit!" She demanded sternly. She watched to see the canine's actions.
Kendal's face lit up as the dog obeyed. "Good girl! Now lie down!" She demanded.
((met with an equally pathetic post :T ))

((Haha Sorry...))
Lilia lay down on the ground and she whined as if waiting for a treat, or a reward for her obeying orders

((No worries. It happens. :P ))
Kendal pouted a bit. "Sorry, buddy." She realized she had not given her anything. "Bear doesn't ask for things. He never did." She sat down next to Lilia and gently pushed her over and scratched her belly. Bear was an odd dog, she had forgotten what normal ones acted like. "Good girl!" She encouraged, continuing with the belly rub.

Lilia's tongue lolled out of her mouth and her tail wagged playfully, she was obviously enjoying the attention and the belly rub that she was receiving.
After a while Kendal stood and skipped off to go find something else to do. She wondered how long Cecily planned on letting her stay there. She knew she was imposing, but Kendal had made it very clear that the first forest they came to would be the end. Cecily could leave her there to start over and never have to bother with the unexpected guest again. Her stomach growled, but little Kendal paid it no mind.
Cecily sat herself down on the vcouch in the living room and looke up at the cieling. She wondered how long Kendal would be staying with her, because she really enjoyed her company. Living along with one dog could get kind of lonely. She sighed and then smiled slightly.
Lilia boumded after Kendal as she walked awa, hoping to get some more attention.

Kendal smiled at the dog. "Do you know how to play tag?" She asked. To test it, she stopped mid skip and turned toward the dog. She gently tapped Lila on the head and dashed away, using a bit of her pixie like speed and agility to match that of the dogs, but no more, to keep the playing field even.
Lilia chased after Kendal with a skipping like run. She was a speedy animal and she caught up to Kendal, even with her stramgelooking run.
Kendal glanced over and raised an eyebrow at the dog. She must have underestimated the canine's speed. She easily adjusted, since Kendal hadn't been going all out. She giggled at Lilia. She liked the dog and wouldn't mind playing with her a bit longer. Maybe she could get Bear to join in on the game of tag. She dashed away, more in search of Bear than to escape Lilia. "Would Cecily be interesting in joining?" She asked Lilia. Kendal used to play games with the travelers and couldn't wait to play some again.
Lilia bounded off and then brought back Cecily. She was being dragged by the leg of her pants, getting pulled along by the dog. She was laughing. "Lilia! What is it?" She asked through the laughter.
Kendal grinned widely. "She's brought you here to play. And tagged you. You're it!" Kendal bounded down the hall and disappeared around a corner, using a bit more of her pixie speed. She didn't want to make it too easy.
Cecily gave a big smile, she hadn't played any games like this for a long time. It was good to relax. She laughed and started running after Kendal quickly, catching up, but staying back a bit. She continued to smile brightly as she ran.
Kendal skid on her bare heels and slipped around a corner, quickly weaving in a zigzag pattern to avoid getting caught. She leaped along the long hall and dashing into a room. Quickly enhancing her speed to full throttle, using her pixie genes, she rolled into a good hiding spot. There she closed her eyes and calmed her breathing, using a meditation technique taught to her by her merchant friend. She slowed her thoughts down and tried to disperse her 'energy' and become 'one' with her surroundings.
Cecily passed right by her as she ran, looking for the child. Lilia was at her heels, barking as she followed her master swiftly.
