LadyDisdain | 21 comments Hi all :)
So I couldn't help noticing that the current group read selection is actually one from a long while back (someone correct me if I'm wrong) and was wondering if any of you would be interested in selecting a new one that we could all read together and discuss?
Please tell me what you think. Thanks!

LadyDisdain | 21 comments Oh & I messaged the moderator, Christy, but she hasn't written back yet, and I guess I'm just being impatient, but I'm also guessing she won't mind too much.

Nicole D. (thereadingrebel) | 66 comments I would love to have a group read.

message 7: by Kim (new)

Kim (kimmr) | 215 comments I am unlikely to join in a group read, because I've re-read almost all the romances and I've read all of the mysteries for the first time very recently. However, I will certainly follow the discussion and chip in from time to time, if that's okay.

Peregrina651 (peregrina651peregrinations) I'm game. Pick a book and let's get going.

When you all decide on a book, let me know, and I'll change the group read.

The book that is up there now was decided by members, but nothing ever came of it. If you guys want to try again, just start a thread for the book here in the Group Reads folder and go for it.

Barbara Hoyland (sema4dogz) | 449 comments I see that the proposed group reads were Black Moth perhaps These Old Shades, both of which have just been group-read on Almacks, so maybe another would be best.

Kim, I think everyone has re-read ( and re-read) the romances so not a drawbck, in fact , makes it better I think?

I woudl be more than happy with any of the Regencies, say Frederica, Venetia, Cotillion, The Unknown Ajax, Grand Sophy . Oh sorry , beginning to ramble ....

message 11: by LadyDisdain (new)

LadyDisdain | 21 comments Great to see you're all interested :)
Shall we create a poll to vote or just pick a book? Also, I tried creating a poll, but I don't have permission sadly (I thought I might not) so Christy, if you'd be so kind? :)

message 12: by Kim (new)

Kim (kimmr) | 215 comments Probably the best thing to do would be to call for nominations within a given timeframe and then, assuming there is more than one contender, ask for a poll to be set up.

message 13: by LadyDisdain (new)

LadyDisdain | 21 comments Ok, good idea. I'll start a new thread for nominations.

message 14: by Peregrina651 (new)

Peregrina651 (peregrina651peregrinations) I don't know about anyone else but I can live without a long drawn out book choosing process. I think that since LadyDisdain came up with the idea, that she should choose a book and invite us to read it along with her. Otherwise, we are going to spend weeks going back and forth, and by the time a title has been chosen, everyone, me included, will have moved on with their lives and lost interest.

LadyD, thanks for trying to be democratic about it but sometimes you have to strike while the iron is hot and make hay while the sun shines!!

Absolutely !

LadyDisdain | 21 comments Haha, ok, then :P I shall go and start a new thread for the book.
