Gigi | 833 comments Hi!!!!! Well, here we are again. The start of a new month. So, I can't believe I finished 4 books this month. Hopefully, my reading-funk is starting to end. There were 2 books that were my best reads this month Perfect Chemistry (Perfect Chemistry, #1) by Simone Elkeles and Open Season by Linda Howard . I didn't read anything that I would consider bad. What about you? What was your best and worst book this month?

message 2: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Yes, Gigi! Open Season by Linda Howard was good. I'll have to check out your other one.

Carolyn F. Hey I'm reading And One Last Thing ... by Molly Harper too Lisa!

My favorites for this month are The Golden Dynasty (Fantasyland, #2) by Kristen Ashley , liked it more than her contemporary books.

Conflict of Honors (Liaden Universe, #7) by Sharon Lee , if you like sci-fi, you'll like this book.

Also loved Fair Game (Alpha & Omega #3) by Patricia Briggs , every book in this and the Mercy series reminds me why she's one of my top 5 favorite authors.

The Girl Who Chased the Moon by Sarah Addison Allen and The Peach Keeper by Sarah Addison Allen , there hasn't been one book that I didn't love from this author.

Bone Deep by Bonnie Dee , loved tortured hero books and this author knows how to write them.

The Obsession by Jaid Black , terrible cover, great book.

stone lover by A.C. Warneke , I've got a thing for gargoyle books.

Third Grave Dead Ahead (Charley Davidson #3) by Darynda Jones , lower reviews from others helped. Came in with low expectations and loved it.

The Sweet Gum Tree by Katherine Allred , I've read this authors sci-fi romance books and was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked this one too.

Gosh, I can't believe all the 5 stars I threw out there this month! But each book deserved it.

Gisela (chicadorlando) | 4022 comments Best books (in no particular order):

Rainshadow Road (Friday Harbor, #2) by Lisa Kleypas Fate's Edge (The Edge, #3) by Ilona Andrews Caressed By Ice (Psy-Changeling, #3) by Nalini Singh Cinder (Lunar Chronicles, #1) by Marissa Meyer Night in Eden by Candice Proctor

The worst:
A Hint of Wicked (James Family, #1) by Jennifer Haymore This was a very disappointing read for me. I thought the book had a lot of potential but it quickly devolved into:

Garrett: "She's my wife"

Tristan: "No, she's my wife"

Sophie: "Boys, boys! Let's calm down and settle this like adults. I can't choose between you. I love you both. But while this is settled I'm still sleeping with Tristan. And maybe Garett.Maybe both at the same time?"

I hate love triangles... However, Night in Eden had a triangle that was very well done. The heroine knew who she wanted. I think that was what made the difference.

There were also a few enjoyable reads but not so memorable that I can remember them now. All in all I had a pretty good reading month.

Thanks Lisa Kay! It was! Let me know what you think of Perfect Chemistry.

Wow, I have a lot of books to add. I just added Cinder, Masque of the Black Tulip, And One Last Thing, Texas Rain, Bone Deep, Hearing Heart, purchased Sweet Gum Tree, Rainshadow Road and Heaven and Hell. LOL! Wow!!! LOL

message 25: by Lisa Kay, Moderator (new)

Lisa Kay (lisakayalicemaria) | 20787 comments Oh, yes, Judy, Kate Reading does a great job on the Pink Carnation audiobooks. Sorry you didn't like And Only to Deceive (Lady Emily, #1) by Tasha Alexander . I think that one was perfect for a "buddy read" - because of the pace. I can see how you would think it was slow in parts.
