Mandy ran through the maze, not paying any attention to where she was going. All she wanted to do was get away. Away from everything. She didn't want to think about the crazy day she'd had. Mandy slowed down to a walk, trailing her hand along the green hedges. She sighed heavily, hoping she didn't run into anyone in the Maze.((And along comes Spencer :) ))
Spencer laughed loudly, unable to stop himself. He seriously loved this maze. It was the perfect escape from everything in his life he wanted to forget. The brilliant distraction, something new around every corner. He didn't slow as he turned around the next corner, and it was clearly a mistake. Judging by the way he knocked someone and himself to the ground.
Mandy turned the corner and gasped loudly as she was knocked to the ground. She sprang up, hands bursting into flame, and turned on the person who had so rudely bumped into her. "What the he-" she trailed off, realizing who it was. "Spencer? What are you doing in here?" she asked, confusion replacing the anger.
"Whoah. Fire down." he said, holding his hands up and taking a smooth step backwards. "I was running. Obviously." he said, a little sheepishly. As if he was caught doing something wrong. Spencer smiled, happy to see her. "What are you doing here?"
Mandy closed her fists and extinguished the fire. "Sorry," she said. She hesitated before returning his smile. She had wanted to be alone, but seeing Spencer had changed her mind. "I was running too," she admitted. "But," she added, stepping closer, "I'm open to other options."
Mandy rolled her eyes. "Yes, I've been running through this maze for close to two hours and now I can think of nothing better to do than race you," she said. She held his face between her hands. "You know, despite your irresistible attractiveness, you can be really stupid sometimes," she said, smiling.
Spencer relaxed with her touch, and he closed his eyes for a second. "If I'm so irresistible, why haven't aren't you kissing me?" he asked, raising his brow in question. Seemed like a reasonable question.
Mandy sighed and leaned into him. "Patience is a virtue, I'm getting there," she scolded. She pulled his head down, stood on her toes and kissed him softly. "Is this better?" she murmured against his lips.
((Off...I need to sleep. SB tournament tomorrow. I'll see if I have time to get on when I get home :D ))
"Much." he commented, smiling against her lips. Spencer tilted his head to the side, and his smile became wider. "Are you saying you are, or are not, virtuous."
Mandy kissed him again before answering. "Patience is only one virtue. I never claimed to be virtous in all circumstances," she said, smiling up at him.
Spencer kissed her back, but he couldn't hide his curiosity. He was distracted. "Well then are, or aren't you?" he asked, hands around her waist.
Mandy frowned, she hadn't meant for her comment to turn into this kind of conversation. "And what happens if I say no?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.
Spencer paused before speaking. Her tone obviously suggested he could answer this seriously wrong, and pay consequences. "I guess I can't say I wouldn't care." he said slowly, trying to keep his face from going red. "But it wouldn't be the end of the world, I'm not expecting anything from you."
Mandy was glad that he had answered honestly. "Well," she said slowly. "I am virtuous, if that's what we're calling it, but only just," she said truthfully. "And you?"
His face was clearly baffled, and he ignored her question. "Care to elaborate?" he asked, not following her reasoning. Only just? What was that supposed to mean?
Mandy's eyes widened. "You're kidding right? You want me to eleborate?" she asked in disbelief. "I'm not going to tell you every detail of the night! There was a guy, and I wasn't quite in the right frame of mind, and I was extremely close to doing something that I would have regretted. But I didn't. That's all you need to know," she said.
"Okay. Calm down." he said, surprised by her harsh reaction. Spencer dropped his hands, and took a small step away. He didn't want to be so close to her, if she was going to randomly start yelling at him like that. What had he even done? Asked a question?
"I am calm!" she yelled. Then, realizing how ridiculous she sounded, she sighed. "I'm sorry for going off on you like that," she said. "I just, I don't know." She looked up at him. "I don't want to ruin anything between us."
((Okay lol XD ))
Spencer took another step back, and sat on the ground, pulling his knees into his chest. "I understand." he said, fighting a smile. It really wasn't the right thing to find funny, but he couldn't resist the humor. He just hoped she wouldn't ask him again...it most likely wouldn't end well. Especially in the mood she was already displaying.

"What are you smiling about?" Mandy asked, walking over and sitting next to him. She rested her head on his shoulder. She sat like that for about thirty seconds before bolting upright again. "You never answered my question," she said, trying to keep her voice level.
"You make me smile." he answered, but his smile disappeared quickly after. Spencer looked away from her eyes, and pursed his lips. "That was my intent." he commented.
Mandy continued to look at him. "Well, I answered you, so I think it's only fair," she said. "Like you said, it wouldn't be the end of the world."
"Then I'm not." he said, looking at her pointedly. Spencer's expression read he wasn't proud of it either. He watched her carefully, waiting for her reaction.
((Liz said to tell you that she'd be online momentarily...))Mandy nodded. She'd expected as much. She was curious, but didn't want to pry too much. "Um, alright. How long ago?" she asked.
"So uhm, how 'bout that race?" he asked, standing up and brushing off his pants. Spencer smiled at her, making it clear he wasn't answering any of her questions.
((Well that sucks :P Its like, 11 here...and I'm going to bed soon. XD))
((Well that sucks :P Its like, 11 here...and I'm going to bed soon. XD))
((Haha, okay then))Mandy didn't return his smile. "Not funny. Come on, you have to tell me something," he said, grabbing his arm.
Spencer raised his eyebrows, giving her a look. "Uhm, actually, I don't think I do." he said, his tone giving away nothing. "Come on Mandy, just let it go."
"Let it go? You asked me to elaborate, so I don't see why I can't ask the same of you," she said reasonably. She wasn't angry, she just wanted to know why he was so guarded all of a sudden.
"You weren't being clear, it was a yes or no question, and you pretty much said 'Yes, but no.' So I inquired further. I deliberately said Yes, and you want details. Its completely different." he said, voice carrying a hint of amusement.
Mandy rolled her eyes. "You are impossible, you know. I can see I'm not going to win this argument right now, but trust me, I will not forget," she said, smiling and shaking her head.
Spencer smirked, "What makes you think if I'm not telling you now, I'll tell you later?" he asked, looking down at her imploringly.
"Oh, I'm sure you'll spill sooner or later," Mandy assured him. "And, as previously stated, I am a very patient person."
"I could always distract you if it came down to it." he said, eyes light. "Kiss you or something crazy like that."
Spencer inclined his head, "Everything is temporary." he countered, not thinking of the full extent of his words. "But at least I kiss good."
"You kiss well," Mandy corrected. "And what do you mean everything is temporary?" she asked, frowning.
He rolled his eyes at the grammar correction. "I kiss mighty fine. I don't know...I guess that's just how it is." he said, stifling a yawn.
Mandy didn't like to think of their relationship being temporary, but didn't say anything. She smiled as she watched him stifle a yawn. "Well, it looks like it's past somebody's bedtime. We should get out of here, but that's easier said than done," she commented, looking around. She had no idea how to get out.
Spencer watched her, and smiled to himself. "You go that way." he said, nodding back to the way he had come. "I know where to go." he added, pulling her hand in that direction.
Mandy let him lead her in what she hoped was the right direction. "And you're positive you know where you're going?" she asked. "Because I'm trusting you right now."
Spencer rolled his eyes, "No faith." he said, pretending to be highly offended. "I know you just want me for my body, but can you not appreciate my smarts?" he asked, amused.
"Touche'" he said, catching her words. Spencer looked away, not letting her see how much her comment had bothered him. Mostly because she was right. They had barely said anything to each other...they were mostly about physical things. He could now see why she wanted to know things about him, and why she had such a problem when he refused to tell her something or give her details. "About a year ago...My first real serious girlfriend." he said, glancing back at her.
It took Mandy a moment to realize what he was talking about. "Oh, okay. Um, what happened? If you don't mind me asking," she said.
Spencer sighed, but her response wasn't unexpected. "I don't understand what you don't understand." he said, looking in front of him as he turned corners. Uncomfortable, but he realized if he expected her to trust him...he had to confide in her. However awkward it would be. "We were together for a while...things changed after." he said, shrugging his shoulders.
