Bethany | 72 comments Maybe "Mockingjay" could be called "Wild Fire" and "The Hunger Games" could be called "Making Sparks" Just to go with the whole "fire" theme. I've always thought it would be cool.

message 8: by Kirby (new)

Kirby | 49 comments well, I never really liked that the book or the "games" were called the hunger games, since it doesn't exactly make sense...so, something else for the first one...

I think it was because if you won your district would get a large supply of food and because at the time quite a few districts were starving.

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

I liked how it went three words, two words, one word. And if you omitted "the", all the titles were three syllables. All very symbolic and such.

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

So, no, I wouldn't change any titles.

Catch-ing fi-re... I might be wrong though

message 28: by LiteraryMary95 (new)

LiteraryMary95 No, you're right!

message 29: by Kirby (new)

Kirby | 49 comments well, I looked it up, and apparently it can be pronounced with one or two syllables. the way I say it, it has one.

so, I believe that snickerdoodle's observation is still correct, provided that you only use one syllable for "fire."

message 33: by Caroline (new)

Caroline (godwithus) the names were creative!i think though if she went with like a bird theme, Jabberjay and Mockingjay or A fire theme. Catching Fire ,Raging Fire

ℂᖺαᖇᒪἷ℮ ⊰1017 &Tardis⊱ (charlie_awesome) | 2311 comments Mod

It depends on how you pronounce "fire". One syllable or two.

It all depends on your accent. For instance in Scranton, I don't speak like them, they say Scranan instead of Scranton

I know sometimes people say, "mounain" instead of "mounTain" or "crik" instead of "creek"....

well that was slightly random... sorry guys.

message 48: by Kirby (new)

Kirby | 49 comments I've been trying to figure out how to spell how I (and most of the people I live around) say "I'm gonna." it's more like "I'm-uh-nuh."

message 49: by [deleted user] (new)

Yeah, same here. We also say wanna and shoulda and gonna and tryta a lot. "To" has become obsolete where I live.

message 50: by LiteraryMary95 (new)
