Sterling Malory Archer i'm contemplating reading the book but what i gather from the summary it has a lot to do with the love triangle.

so i would like an honest assessment of the romance in the book because i'm not so keened on it and if it takes a large portion of the book like 1 quarter i would rather not waste my time!

thank you in advance!

Li Lo I really love the sequel :) When I read the book, I didn't actually notice the romance. I'm more focused on the action of the game and their fight with the capitol. So I really don't mind.

However, every one has their own interpretation. Maybe for you, the romance will be too much. Either way, Enjoy reading! :)

Helen Stevens There's some of the love triangle in the first half, but it's not the dominant plot. In the second half, it fades completely into the background.

Sterling Malory Archer well in the first book i also liked the action and tried to focus on that, but near the end i felt it focused a lot on romantic feelings of lack there of and it really bummed me out,
so would you say that this book revolves around the subject a lot more, the same or even less than the first book?

This. I thought there was more love triangle stuff in the third than the first two.

Christina I did feel like Peeta and Katniss did get closer in this book than the last. But I did not feel that this was what the whole book was about. To me the second book was a lot like the first book.

Kayla This one was my favorite in the story, and yeah, int he beginning it has to do with the romance Katniss has with both Peeta and Gale, but the action starts happening and everything, it has a much more complex plot that just builds up the story so much! Very much worth reading!

Mersedes This was actually my favorite book of the series and while it does have romance it's mostly focuses on the games. The action is my absolute favorite part of the book. You meet a ton of great characters and it's soo worth it!!!

Ruby It starts off a bit slow and a bit about the triangle, but then after one particular event (hehe) happens, it gets really intense, exiting, and really like the 1st book

Jackie Lambert these books are not just about a love story. yes that is in them but there is a much bigger political picture. they are amazing!

Yes exactly.

Haidi a little love triangel content but the story doesn't revolve around it. In my opinion its as exciting as the first.

If you enjoyed the first then your likely to enjoy the second.

How could you not read it after the first?!

Kristen No, the romance isn't ever really a major aspect in this story. It's definitely in there, but it's just sort of a side-story. It sort of follows Katniss' feelings on love and since she never planned on falling in love and getting married, she wasn't giving a whole lot of thought to romance.

Jaye Latts I never felt that this was a romance book. To me, it was the bleakness of their lives, with feelings thrown in there, but not in a hearts and flowers way, rather in the "I feel for you but our lives are so horrible that I hold my feelings in" kind of way (if you can understand that!). Read them. The romance is not really a big issue.

I completely agree! The romance is just a small ingredient in the story, not the main one. I feel like the romance factor was also very well played. It wasn't unrealistic like it is in some stories (16 year old soul mates and such).

Sterling Malory Archer ok, i'll give it a shot, even though i said i wouldn't try reading another YA book.
i especially like politics is storylines

i was really worried that the romance would be the focus of the book, i suppose i'll just have to cringe and get through it like the last one!

Sterling Malory Archer thanks for the replies! i'm grateful!

Louisa If you like the politics then its worth the romantic subplot, especially in the third
