C J Box gave a talk and signed books at our library on Friday. He is a very good speaker and had some funny stories. I've only read a few of his books but, I'm sure I will be reading more. I did buy his new one. He was in town to go to the Poisoned Pen, we are hoping we will be able to get more authors that always come here for the store

He used to always come to Murder By the Book here in town when they still had a storefront. I always liked going to his signings.

I have recently started this series, am on the 2nd one and just got the 3rd from the library. I am thoroughly enjoying them!

This is one of those series that is pretty consistent in quality. Joe Pickett is kind of clutzy, unpopular with his bosses, thoroughly cowed by his wife and daughters, and refreshingly can't shoot the eyes out of a newt at fifty paces. A little different MC.
