Douglas Richards (douglaserichards) | 5 comments Hi, I'm the author of the technothriller/SF novel, WIRED. The sequel, AMPED, will be available the first week in April, and Rick F. suggested I post about it here. If you know of anyone who read WIRED and might be interested in the sequel, please let them know.

Thanks!

Doug

P.S. Just as an FYI, WIRED made both the NY Times and USA Today bestseller lists, and was the #1 bestselling Kindle book of 2011 in two major categories: SF and technothrillers. (I thought that this info might be of interest, but I couldn't figure out any way to impart it without appearing to be boasting -- sorry about that. Believe me, it's been a surreal experience for me).

David Elkin I caught the sale from a SCI-FI blog. Thanks for the discount and I even ponied up the $3!

Joyce Strand | 26 comments Does anyone know the criteria for a book giveaway on Goodreads? Does it have to be a printed book, or can authors give away an e-book?

Howard Loring (howardloringgoodreadscom) | 284 comments Joyce, I'm interested too.

I sent 10 real books of my first Epic Fable, purchased at my reduced cost (then postage) as stipulated by the Goodreads give away function & had 500 or so hits.

I think with my 2nd book I'll give away ebooks instead (to see if the result is different) but I don't know how that happens exactly as far as billing goes, etc.

There'd be no shipping though, just a download, which I would have to pay.

But how do I arrange such given that I don't know who sends the ebook, me or the same people that send if it when purchased directly online?

Hope someone can advise, thanks.

I didn't plan to read immediately, but will start it immediately after I finish the Beetle.

However, Hockey and Baseball will take some time away from reading.

Douglas Richards (douglaserichards) | 5 comments David, no rush. Get to it (or don't get to it) whenever you have the chance.
