Well, with Alex was it more love itself, as he was her introduction to it? Or was it truly Alex she loved? It's been a while since I read it, but I get the impression she feels more deeply for Julian. As a person, for myself I think I prefer Alex, sure. But it's not about me, it's about her, and I think Julian is the one for her, at least from what's been written so far. But it will be very interesting to see what the third book has to say!!

Julian is a sweet guy, but the sacrifice Alex made for Lena was something serious. Lena better not break Alex's heart.
