Is it possible to add a self-published ebook?

I have self-published an eBook - http://www.kruger-2-kalahari.com/phot... that is sold only through my website. Would it be possible for me to join the author program and to add it to Goodreads please, and if so, how would I go about doing this?

I am not listed in the database so I'm unable to send a request to join the Author Program and when I try to add my book manually it says I need to be a librarian to add books.

Mario, I've gone ahead and entered your book; your author profile is now here:

At the bottom of the page is a link which say "Is this you? Let us know." Click there to join the GR Authors program!

Once you've claimed your author profile, you can update the information I entered for your book; I just took what was available on the website.

Cait, I'm having the same problem as Mario. I have self published a book on Kindle (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Village-Green...) and can't work out how to add it or myself as an author. Can you help?

You can add the book yourself at this link:

Or we can do it for you. We need the following information (as much as you can provide):

* Title
* Author(s) name(s)
* ISBN (or ASIN)
* Publisher
* Publication date
* Format
* Description
* Link to cover on a NON-BOOKSELLER site, such as a publisher site, an author site, etc.

We can't use Amazon's data to add the book to Goodreads (or any book seller site), but if you have an author website with the information someone can probably add it from there.

The book was already here with author name misspelled. Fixed that and added cover.

Just thought I'd say that I LOVE that you can add self-published works on here. Both of my novels are on here, and I think it's really great that Goodreads allows that since our 'outlet' can be so limited sometimes.

Julie V, you can manually add a book and then claim your author profile. Before I was a librarian I added a few books so I assume all users can do that.

Be cautious about adding covers for future books. They can be difficult to remove or change when the book is eventually published.

Goodreads policy is to keep all published covers on the site, as users want to shelve the cover of the copy they have. Similarly, books are always listed with the original author as the primary author for all editions.

However, I set the newer cover to be the default edition, which will come up in searches by title and show on your author profile.

On Goodreads, books are always listed with the original author as the primary author for all editions. That means all editions of Choices will have S.R. Cambridge listed as the primary author.

Just a warning to people who use the link for the author's page with someone's name already as an author. I used this application with the assumption that the link I provided, which included my name, titles, etc. would be edited. Instead, it listed me as the actual author that was already listed in the application and had to wait for this error to be corrected (though not long). Better to add books first and then include yourself as an Author unless there is an easier process. All the best.
