nordwvy ...about this edition. I haven't finished the book yet, but I know that Dickens wrote two endings. Which one was included in this edition of the novel?

Chris My guess is that it's the second ending. The first ending came in the Victorian serialised version, but Dickens rewrote the ending slightly in response to readers' concerns about Estella feelings about Pip. I would imagine that most editions nowadays go with the ending in the subsequently published book (mine certainly does); you may have to consult an academic edition to see what the original may have involved.

Mia Usually books that include the original ending have both endings as a side note, the only other thing I've come across is them excluding the original ending (which drives me nuts because I vastly prefer it) all together.

Annemarie Donahue All the editions I have include the three endings.

Lifeson In my copy it has Pip and estella just come to a mutual agreement to be friends and there romantic relationship was left in the air more or less. Are any of the other endings more conclusive towards the latter relationship. I havent seen any of the other endings spoken of.
