Game Arena: The Underwater Grotto

((Cedar))An hour passes. we sit on our rock peacefully, Fade's head in my lap while i stroke her hair. Suddenly, a fifth swarm of bats swoops down, and almost lazily i slash and doge my way through the tiny swarm. A single bat falls at the feet of my now bloody companion and the flock almost immediately disburses, leaving an air of finality behind. Fade says something about the timing of the attacks, and i agree completely, but am taken aback by a tiny grey speck in the sky. A parachute! i crane my neck to get a good look at the name, but even when i realize it's Fades name on the package, not mine, i smile, it's good to be happy for someone, and she's definitely earned it. I think of my recent behavior, fumbling around and general lack of effort probably aren't very good ways to get sponsors. I shake myself off, and promise myself, from now on, things are going to be different! We both happily race to where the package landed and Fade, in a wild like way that made my insides flutter, tore the thing open to reveal the contents inside. She pulls out a jar of honey, (My Favorite!) a couple of wicked looking fighting daggers, and a pair of dark blue socks. Socks?!? who would want socks in the middle of the HG? was she freezing to death? no! so why..."Socks?" i ask in confusion, and i realize she's begun to sing. I give her a cockeyed smile and guffaw at her sudden change of character. "Yep, dark blue socks, as a reminder of the crazy days at home with my brother!" i decide to drop it, she's so happy indulged in her own memories that i decide to just let her be, happy. After rinsing her hand off in the water, she dips three delicate fingers into the honey and licks it off, grinning widely and giggling. she dips them in again and offers them to me. Stepping forward, i give her index finger a small lick of a kiss, to which her giggles intensify tenfold as she sticks the same finger back into her mouth and suckles, looking up at me. I pick her up and give her a twirl, and we laugh and sing until we get dizzy like children and fall over in a heap, on top of each other. I give her a long needed kiss which tastes of blood, sweat, laughter, and honey. It reminds me of home. We lay in rest, just hoping to savor every last bit of happiness there is to be had.
((yay! Good job. Now I think that everybody uncontrolled is dead...))

Cedar and I hang out, napping and just chilling. I've given up hope on being really clean ever again. But, I'm happy. Happiest I've been in the arena. Cedar, honey, socks... Yep. We rest and clean up, packing up all the stuff. Later, when my head is resting on Cedar's lap, I hear heavy breaths and branch breaking bodies. I spring up, pulling Cedar from his relaxed seat. We arm ourselves and start circling. It sounds like there is many people, hunting together? A band of inferior tributes, teaming up. No way. But it is so, and it's not a good time to be thinking. Judging by footsteps, I think there is maybe 3-5 people. I can't tell. Either way, we're under attack and need to fight ...

((Cool, just tell me when you want to do the final battle, since Fade and Cedar are still together, we'll have to come up with a way for them to break apart. Maybe when it gets down to the final three, Fade can battle first, so Cedar can 'avenge' her death.))

A parachute floats down, near Cedars feet. I leap out of my seat and run at it. I yank it off the ground and open it, even though it has no name on it. I find a nice sized knife in the parachute. I guess this 'chute was just general. As I just got my twin daggers, I don't want this knife, I want my pair I offer it to Cedar. I have a feeling he's going to need it. He accepts and pockets it. It makes me feel better now that he has it.

Gaby sees a parachute glide down as she runs. She slowly comes to a stop. I rip it open and I see something small. A spearhead and some rope. Gaby found some rope and tied it together. Now she felt slightly better having a spear in her hand.

((Cedar, in response to Sam's parachute))I sit on a rock, planning our next move, not event noticing that a parachute had landed practicaly right into my lap! Fade sprints over and tears the thing open, because as she looks she finds no name, and in the middle of the nicely wrapped package lays a knife, a hunting knife, and her expression dims a bit, dissapointed in lack of anything exciting in the 'chute. She turns slightly and offers the thing to me, and i take it in hand to examine it's qualities. It's too big to be a throwing knife, no wonder she had no interest in it, and she just got those two shiny new daggers. Well, in my terms it's perfect. Heavy, with a nicely worn in leather handle, nothing stiff and plasticy like those ones in the training center, this knife reminds me of home. along with my sward, it'll make a great hand to hand weapon. I smile and give Fade a kiss of thanks, then get back to planing...

((yep. I think that you should like kill Fade, run off when she dies. Let Cedar demolish one, come back and take each other on. Or something of the like.

((That was my plan. Of course Gaby will join! I have it all planned out. Gaby and I form an alliance first after she kills Efran in the morning and then we find the others. I'm writing it now.))
((Oooh, isn't Gaby still being controlled? Can I start writing from Fades until she dies? I wanna say what happens then. But, I don't wanna mess up anything you've written so far. Either way, I think this should be the last 'scene' so to speak.))

Here it is:(Marissara)
Today is my seventeenth birthday, and I hope that’s a good sign. If it is, I think today will be important in the arena. Something big is going to happen. I go look at my traps and it looks like I got a good haul today. I manage to trap three rabbits and three squirrels. Next activity I need to do is get water so I guess I’m heading to my pond. As I go to my pond, I hear a cannon fire. I continue to move because I know I’m able to protect myself. I am a little bit stressed so I’m going to the waterfall. When I get to the waterfall, I drop my stuff and tear off my clothes, but keep my spear right where I can quickly grab it. I swim and spend time under the waterfall for about an hour. I hear someone in the bushes so I prepare for the attack, even though I only have my undergarments on. It’s Gaby, the girl who missed me with the arrow she shot at me.
“Don’t attack me, please. I’m only here to ask if you would join me in an alliance. I want to take on the two love bird Careers, but I need more power to take them on,” she tells me.
I reply, “Alright, but I will kill you if you start to attack me. Your idea is great! We need more people in our alliance. It probably won’t be hard to find the four other tributes. I know someone died today. Do you know who died?
“Yeah I do. I killed Efran so that means that there will be six of us against the two Career lovers. I don’t like killing these other tributes, but it has to be done,” she says
“Oh, I feel the same. I killed Josh yesterday with my spear. Getting this done and over with will make both our lives easier. I think I’ll be able to take one of the tributes down if I have a bow and arrow, which you have.”
She looks at me astonished and says, “Wait! You killed Josh! I thought the Careers did. Wow, you’re tougher than I thought you were. You survived from my arrow, too. How did you do it both and how did you get that spear because it doesn’t look like mine?”
“He charged at me and I stood there with my spear behind my leg, and then I pulled it out when he couldn’t slow down. I feel awful that I killed him, and he is my first kill. I saw you at the corner of my eye and dodged it enough to have it graze my shoulder. I made the spear out of a hard branch, vine, and a rock that I scraped off on another rock.”
“Okay, what we first need to do is get the rest of the remaining tributes and then some food,” Gaby tells me.
I inform her, “Well don’t worry about food because I got a good amount of meat from my traps today. I set the traps near the cave I live in. I also set human weighted traps that let me know of incoming tributes, which you set off before you attacked me.”
“Great! So let’s find the rest of the tributes!”
We head off to find the other tributes. Gaby takes me to places I haven’t been to yet, and it seems like the girls from Districts 6 and 7 are allied together. We explain to them our plan and they’re happy to join us. We only need the other two tributes to make our invasion. We find out their names. The District 6 girl’s name is Lauren and the District 7 girl is Maryanne. We travel for another two hours and find Auburn, the District 11 girl. We finally find our last ally, Daniel from my district! I thought he died, and he was ecstatic to see me alive since we’re the only district with both tributes alive. Next thing I do is teach everyone how to skin his or her rabbit or squirrel and we make a fire. We cook our meat even though it’s not sunset, but that’s part of our plan to get the Careers distracted. We eat and prepare for the battle.
I really need those bow and arrows! If I’m stuck by myself again, I would need those to protect me. I’ll have to trick Gaby for them. It shouldn’t be too hard.
“Hey Gaby, can I borrow your bow and arrows and I’ll let you borrow my spear? I’ll be able to shoot one of the Careers and kill him or her. My spear is easier to throw and I have more experience with the bow and arrow,” I explain to her.
Everyone nods their head in agreement, while she replies, “That makes sense. You’re really smart and think ahead.”
She hands me the bow and arrows, which I put them on. I hand her my spear.
Yes, I finally have them!
“So does anybody know where the Careers are? I have a feeling they are at the Cornucopia since that’s a usual hot spot for Careers,” I suggest.
“You’re absolutely right, Marisarra! They are there. I’ve known the whole time that they were there, but I was just keeping my distance until the right timing,” Auburn confirms.
“Let’s not waste time! It’s getting dark, which is great because the Careers will have a harder time seeing us,” Daniel says with enthusiasm.
We travel quickly and make our way to the Cornucopia. Fade and Cedar are there and Fade’s head is resting on Cedar’s lap. They kiss, which reminds me of life at home with my boyfriend. This gives me even more motivation. We for a circle to surround them and try to be quiet so we could kill the Careers before they know it, but Lauren and Maryanne step and break some twigs. The Careers immediately stand up and stand back to back ready for the fight. It’s too dark for them to see us even with the Cornucopia lit. We move in and Daniel charges for Cedar since he’s the only guy and he’s a bit cocky. Cedar bashes him in the head with his elbow and stabs him with a wound that kills him instantly. The cannon fires to announce his death. Lauren uses her slingshot, but misses. Fade is looking nervous and tries to see if she can make out anybody, but she can’t. I get my bow and arrow ready. I take a few seconds to calm myself since I hate doing this. I aim for her heart and let go. It’s a perfect hit and the cannon fires announcing her death. I’m satisfied with what I did and run off before any of the other tributes find out I left them. I go find a new place to live because if Cedar lives, he’ll be after me for avenging Fade’s death. If Gaby is still alive, she’ll want to have my bow and arrows back. I better be quick, but quiet. I hear another cannon fire, but I won’t know who died until the next day since it’s too early for the Gamemakers to show the dead tributes’ faces.
((I'm gonna spice it up a bit, although the story part was great. I'm adding to the fight scene you don't mind, though the end can stay the same.))
Cedar and I are surrounded. It seems as if all the remaining tributes have teamed up and are out to get us. Although I know it's 5 on two, we are way outnumbere, I gotta love a good fight. I spring up, unsheathing my knife, squeeze Cedars hand once, let go and prepare to fight.
It's pitch black and all I can see is the gleam of weapons. An idiot boy charges Cedar and gets run through by Cedars sword. I laugh, exhilarated by the adrenaline pumping through my body. A girl a bit bigger than me advances. I can't see what weapons she has, but it can't be much. A whiz of a rock, being slingshot past us hits my ears, but no rock hits. Miss. The girl continues at me, but I slug her, sending her spinning. My knuckles are raw, but I could care less. Gripping my knives, I thrust one into her side. A scream rips the air and she collapses, dead soon.
Turning, I can't see anything. Its too dark even for my eyes. I'm too out in the open and I know it. I take off, but I'm too late. My hand swings my daggers. But my attacker isn't close enough, bows have always been my weakness.an arrow flya through the air, piercing the skin just above my heart. An excellent shot. I had no hope. Before the wind leaves me, I scream "Cedar" he comes running at me from the dark and it's getting darker. I see his eyes, breathe in his salty scent and my eyes flutter shut. I haven't enough time to say what I want to. I whisper in his ear which is now next to mine, 5 words; "Skye bye. Love you Cedar." Blood is seeping out of me and the last thing I hear is him whisper back, "Honey, I love you too. Fade." and I'm gone. *dead*

Gaby finally meets a boy. She pulls back an arrow and fires. It whizzed past him. He turned around to see Gaby. He starts coming at her and Gaby grabs her spear that she created and threw it at him. It got him straight in the heart. He stands for a bit, dazed, but then gravity takes over and he falls down dead.

((What I did is I tried to take down Fade, but we needed the 6 remaining tributes to take on the Careers))

Ok, right at the 'we're surrounded' part of your last post, this is Cedar))They appeared out of nowhere, six of the other tributes, allied against Fade and I, practically scaring us out of out wits as they romped out of the shadows just in time for us to arm ourselves. We're both shaken up, and after being yanked out of our blissful peace and make out session, I'm thourally agitated. We stand, hand in hand, preparing for battle. Six against two, those odds are never good. Though, we're great fighters, so i squeeze her hand in encouragement and charge at an oncoming enemy. his form is awful, and i jab my sward straight through him and twist, killing him instantly. Giving a whoop of rejoice, i spin and smile at Fade, but in an instant, so fast i can barely see it coming, an arrow lands Fade, square in the chest, and it feels like I've been punched so hard that all of the air has been nocked out of my body. "Cedar!" she screams as she falls to the ground, her voice cutting off at the end. Im at her side in seconds, but i can already tell she's slipping away. My eyes fill with tears and a lump dwells in my throat as i lay my head as close as i can without hurting her, straining to hear the wisps of words she speaks. "Skye bye. Love you Cedar." The nonsense before can wait, but right now, my love for her has never been stronger. "Love you too Fade." i choke out, sobbing and gulping for air. Her heart speeds faster now, and i lean down to give her one final kiss. When i come back up, she's gone. A cannon fires. Fade is dead.
((Cedar's rage after Fade's death))I stand up, and take out my sward, gaze held to the ground. Three of Fade's throwing knives are held in my other hand, ready to kill. "If anyone moves, they're dead." rage glistens on the edge of my voice, Fade's death will not be in vain. I hear a rustle in the bushes, look up, and see a scrawny little boy scrambling to get away. The knife enters his body and he dies instantly with a small shriek of pain. All of the others seem to have been dumbfounded by Fade's whole death scene, and have remained frozen, right where i left them. "Do we understand each other now?" i ask, calm but deadly in my tone. "I said, do we understand each other?!?" In rage, i throw another knife, at another tribute, whose leg is taken out by my throw, a painful, but not lethal, hit. "KILL HIM!" someone calls, and suddenly, the remaining three tributes are upon me, and we scratch and stumble until one of them is dead, one ran off bleeding badly from their maimed right ear ((This is Gaby, so she ran off, Marisa can battle it out with her)), and the other has lost his left eye and three fingers. I have a long gash across my chest, long but not deep, and a painful bruise on my calf. we wrestle and tussle, until i have him pinned to the ground and bleeding like crazy, he's started to get a little light headed. "WHO BROUGHT YOU HERE PRETTY BOY? WHO KILLED FADE???" I scream, and returns with a gargle that sounds like "Marisa... betrayed... Careers... kill the girl..." With that he passes out, dead. Four cannons fire. The kid who i killed with the knife. The kid who's confession will serve me my revenge, the kid who's leg musta' bled him to death, and... i search my mind who the last one would be, when i stumble over a body. It's a girl, and i realize she was Fade's kill, who must have bled to death too... Marisa. She better watch out, because my only thought now... is to find her, and kill her.
((haha so its ironic b/c Fade was out to kill Gaby and Cedar is now out to kill Marisa. Both of them hit Fade with arrows too. She would hate Katniss haha! Great job Adena! I think Gaby/Marisa should battle since the non careers got a freebie from me then the winner should take on Cedar.))

I think Mylan needs to get on, but really, anybody else will do. I can do the numbers for Marrissa and Gaby. They both hurt Fade, so I really don't care much about who wins. But, I might not trust myself to do Cedar/that winner. So it would be nice if somebody else did it ...))
