Holden, this might be awkward, but we can do this thing. I will whisper sweet Shakespeare nothings in your ear as I reattach it.

message 1641: by Taylor (new)

Taylor | 0 comments I want to get your opinion on something.

I spent a little bit of time reading up on the North Korea armistice dismissal. I guess I was thinking about the possibility of nuclear war too much because I had a dream my area got bombed out.

Well, I had a dream that my best friend died in my arms and I kissed her after she died. I'm thinking about using that sort of situation in a story...but is kissing a freshly dead person (which would be classified as a sign of necrophilia) a little...gruesome?

message 1642: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarah_endipity) | 819 comments It seems sweet. I bet someone has done it to their wife to say goodbye. As long as it isn't rotten.

It's not really gruesome. It happens in Les Misérables, and I remember my grandmother doing that when my grandpa died. Sometimes it's a way for a person to say their last farewell to someone without interrupting the last few seconds that the other person has to live. Does that make sense?

I guess it depends. Kisses on the forehead are pretty innocent. And short ones on the lips aren't gross. It also depends on why the person is doing it, really. If you want to see a creepy example, watch the episode of Psych called "Black and Tan: A Crime of Fashion".

message 1645: by Isaac (new)

Isaac | 8014 comments I think it's fine. I mean, necrophilia is like, having sex with dead people. Kissing a loved one who just died is a completely different matter.

message 1646: by Taylor (new)

Taylor | 0 comments Thanks, guys. I think I'll go ahead and write this scene.

The thing is, I always have to ask myself these kind of questions because my secretary and writing partner, Savannah, is really straight-laced. She keeps trying to get me to write happy stuff, but it's just not easy when you carry the world on your shoulders.

Plus, I think she'd figure out what inspired the scene, and she's always been mildly jealous of this girl. XD

Well, if it's any consolation, you can celebrate at 9:26 pm in two years. Then it will be 3/14/15 9:26.

This.

There's also Pi Approximation Day and the Chinese day for pi on like December 21st.
