But for some reason I'm like the only farsighted person I know. :P Like everyone with glasses are nearsighted and I'm just over her like the hipster glasses-wearer.
But seriously, can anyone please explain to me astigmatism is? Apparently I have it, but I'm still not even exactly 100% sure what it is. I'm a poor uninformed sufferer of it.
Blueturtles wrote: "does the world look wierd without glasses too?"For me, everything looks like a camera out of focus. Things right in front of me are really blurry while things in the distance don't look as blurry and are easier to see.
But I can't read a book without my glasses for my life.
Emily, it is basically where the spherical shape of your eye is flawed (think bubbles), and it warps your vision. Hence the problem.
Since we're on the topic of eyes... My brothers (well, two of them) have super pretty eyes and mine are just meh and it makes me upset. Haha, its not fair.

DEAL.

Wait, are eyes those things in the middle of your face?
I think I might have them too! O.o

Holden, that's pretty much exactly what I was going to say to Emily. Maybe us people with eyes have some psychic powers, too? O_O

No, those things above the nostrils.

I have astigmatism also I think ... a little bit, anyway. It has something to do with how your eyes adjust/focus. It's like, for example––if you have astigmatism, you might be reading something and then when you look up everything is blurry for a second and then it goes back to normal. And I mean, I guess that happens to everyone but ... it's slower or something? I'm not 100% sure, but that's how my mom explained it to me ... haha.

Hey, guys! Crazy request. My secretary and I are itching to roleplay, but I'm too lazy to come up with a unique premise. Anyone have a simple fantasy idea that she and I can build off of?

IF SOMEBODY WOULD WRITE ME A CAESAR/ANTONY OR BRUTUS/CASSIUS FAN FICTION I WOULD LOVE YOU FOREVERSee, once upon a time we read Shakespeare's "Julius Caesar" in my English class and Antony acted so darn gay around Caesar that they became my gay OTP and Brutus and Cassius had some obvious sexual tension between them so.
Except that I saw Gus' death coming from the moment we knew he was "cured." I took one look at that scene and thought, "He's gonna suddenly take a nosedive at the end of the book and die. Furthermore, he's gonna know it was coming to him and die a silent hero." In addition, the whole message of the book was, "Live life before you die." Just like all the cancer books out there.
Yup. So much for being unique right there.

Oh, I only remember once...someone mentioned that it was how all real-life stories go and then I checked out, 'cause that's bull.Well-executed? I suppose. His writing is beautiful...but that's as far as I go with loving John Green. Nothing decent actually happens, and the characters are all too dull.

I've been meaning to read Code Name Verity for a while. I should get around to doing that. Most of the other ones I haven't even heard of ... I shall look into them.
CODE NAME VERITY DEFINTELY DESERVED IT. It was beautiful and perfect and it broke my heart and made me happy in all the best ways and it was so unique.
@HoldenWasn't it you who tried to convince me that Desplat was good? I listened to more Harry Potter, and now I hate him again.... His style, even with some of his most recent movies, is just so...bland.
Lav wrote: "CODE NAME VERITY DEFINTELY DESERVED IT. It was beautiful and perfect and it broke my heart and made me happy in all the best ways and it was so unique."John Green said it made him cry. Therefore, I must read it.
I cried so many times. I think I cried harder (not longer, but harde) than I did the first time I read TFiOS.

MOONRISE KINGDOM, RISE OF THE GUARDIANS. OH RISE OF THE GUARDIANS *cries*
They are all in Youtube!I love Williams with a passion and not because of Star Wars or Indiana Jones. It was Tintin's score that reeled me in.
Also, Michael Giacchino, John Powell (seriously, Bourne and How to Train Your Dragon were superb!) and Alan Silvestri.
What I didn't fully realise until recently is how absurdly good Bernard Herrmann was. His Hitchcock scores are on a completely other level, especially that Psycho theme, which is one of my favorite pieces of music, even outside of film.
Yue [Wonder of living] wrote: "Holden wrote: "Aaah I'll have to check them out!Personally, for me, I was drawn in by Williams' SCHINDLER'S LIST, JURASSIC PARK, CLOSE ENCOUNTERS..., and E.T. scores -- never actually a huge fan ..."
I was furious with that year in the Oscars.
I loved Tron's score, even the electronic. James Newton Howard's The Tourist is beautiful. And Alan Silvestri's Back to the Future is awesome.
Another score that is marvelous is Ludovic Bource's The Artist. I was very very pleased with hi winning the Oscar.

Aw yeah, the Coraline soundtrack is so good. And like Holden said, perfect for the mood of the movie. :)

Noo, I was furious at Hugo.
