Sean O'Hara (seanohara) | 2365 comments With T&V having a new set to decorate, I was wondering what sort of sci-fi paraphernalia everyone has at their place? Me, I'm a fan of the robots:

However, I have to say this is my personal favorite:

Even if you have no clue who the character is, you have to admit she looks pretty impressive seated on those floating gears.

What about everyone else? We're all geeks here, so surely someone has a display case of original Star Wars figures or a full scale replica of the Lost in Space Robot.

Nick (whyzen) | 1295 comments Your very own Tom Servo! I'll have to check amazon for one of those. I've seriously thought about about getting the Game of Thrones Paper weight but I just can't bring myself to spend 60 dollars on something that I'm pretty sure is cheaply made.

Came with one of the MST3K DVD sets. Unfortunately it looks like it's out of print now. Likewise, the Robbie the Robot model came with the Forbidden Planet DVD.

Kate O'Hanlon (kateohanlon) | 778 comments I'm not generally a fan of ornaments, sff or otherwise (because I loose things, break things, throw things, etc).
But I've had a small collection of Discworld pewter miniatures (Granny Weatherwax, Death and the Luggage) survive in my possession for over a decade. They're small and classic (and they were pretty cheap), and I like pewter.
I'll try to take a picture later.

I also have a stone gargoyle guarding my bookshelves. Not sure if that counts.

message 7: by terpkristin (new)

terpkristin | 4407 comments I saw some Portal paraphernalia and some GoT stuff in my email flier from Think Geek. Only "geeky" things I have are a Happy Meal Einstein bobble head from McDonald's "Night at the Museum: Battle for the Smithsonian" promotion they did. My sister sent it to me. I also have a Think Geek stuffed monkey in my office. And a Lego model of the satellites my company builds. And a screw that was in my ankle. It sits in a specimen cup on my desk and is a conversation starter hahahah. I am strongly considering buying a GoT toy for my office...

Napoez3 | 158 comments Stain;Gate! A most watch for "Time travel" fan boys!!!

In don't have anything Sci-fi, nor Swordy... I do have some otakuish things but nothing worth mentioning.

All my shelf are full of books, comics, DVDs and a few videogames... that's all the decoration I need.

message 9: by Jason (last edited Mar 22, 2012 11:01AM) (new)

Jason Bergman (loonyboi) I have a lot of toys and geek stuff around my house and office.

I also have a lot of nerd-tastic art, particularly in my mancave:

At my office, my most prized possession is my fully-functional Fallout: New Vegas neon sign:

I'd so love a mancave.. some nice art/prints you have there. I'm similar to Kate in that I seem to have trimmed down on toys and nick knacks over recent years. I do have a Darth Tadar and a Gandalf Toy sitting on the closest bookcase, but really I don't have a lot these days.

Kev (sporadicreviews) | 667 comments My wife and I used to share a curio cabinet - She had Precious Moments figures on a couple of shelves, and I had Star Wars Lego models on the bottom two shelves.

Now, I have a Star Wars (episode 4) poster hanging in our bedroom and just have a few small trinkets on my dresser, and she has Guild Wars posters and art work all around her desk.

Jonathan (schryke) | 17 comments I had to get a usb hub for my new computer, so I went with the TARDIS shaped one Think Geek sells :)

message 16: by Viktoria (new)

Viktoria | 11 comments My boyfriend and I have a head crab hat, the dragon figure from Skyrim collectors edition, A Harry Potter wand, Gyspy from MST3K, and the Fallout 3 metal lunch box.

message 17: by terpkristin (new)

terpkristin | 4407 comments Words cannot describe how much I wish this wasn't an April Fool's gag, or how much I want Think Geek to make it real, like they did the Tauntaun sleeping bag. http://www.thinkgeek.com/interests/lo...

Also, I forgot about some nerdy stuff I have, I got the Fallout 3 CE which comes in a metal lunchbox like I used to carry to school in kindergarten. I also have a fair few Skylanders figures...though I haven't actually played the game yet. :\

Aeryn98 | 176 comments Ok ew on the Walking Dead head.

Inside I only have my Ezio Auditore (Assassin's Creed) statue, but I do have some great gargoyle birdfeeders on my porch.

Now I think I want that Skyrim dragon. Ebay here I come.

message 21: by Joseph (new)

Joseph | 2433 comments Lots of Star Wars Lego sets on top of the bookshelves, mostly, as well as My Li'l Cthulhu. And a blue glitter lamp on the shelf behind my monitor to set the mood for Mass Effect 3.

message 22: by Kam (new)

Kam (kam_martinez) | 59 comments I only have one pewter dragon I bought from a town along the Rhine - I kind of forget the name, but they're notable for steel and pewter products.

I'll add to that eventually - as soon as I find enough space to put it all in.

message 23: by Peta (new)

Peta (thebookling) | 3 comments I have a fairly extensive (OK - complete!) set of orig Star Wars figures with assorted mini rigs, etc in a cabinet. I would love to expand my collection of Geek Bling (framed maps! Swords!) but need more space... Books or bling?

message 24: by Jack (last edited Apr 03, 2012 02:45PM) (new)

Jack | 46 comments When I saw "bling" in the title I thought jewelry or the like. I make zipper pulls from d20s:

message 25: by Kev (new)

Kev (sporadicreviews) | 667 comments Cool! I was at a little con the other day and saw a booth selling necklaces and earrings made from D20. I told them the earrings should be 2D10, but she said the d10 are more difficult to drill.

I'd love to have a d20 zipper pull (even though I don't game anymore).

message 26: by Joyce (new)

Joyce (jsheff) | 2 comments I've got a Movie Maniacs T-1000 action figure on my desk. Complete with the exploded Robert Patrick torso. Is it called playing with it when you move it for extended periods of time? And make pew, pew sounds.

message 27: by Alison (new)

Alison Spokes (faerali) My geeky guilty pleasure is fairies.

Here are a few that dwell in my home:

You can see more of my fairy collection on my blog or my personal artwork on my website.

Having said that... having my very own Tom Servo would be pretty fantastic!

TheADHDreader | 65 comments I'm a lifelong fan of Tintin, I grew up with the comic so I have a big poster on my wall. There's my Splinter figurine, I have 2 special edition posters of BPRD and Hellboy that I just received that are absolutely beautiful. And of course, I'll be the proud owner of these beautiful fan-art Zelda posters very soon;

message 31: by Agatha (new)

Agatha (agathab) | 130 comments I've got a Millennium Falcon figurine, some busty lady from a comic book I've never read that was gifted to me by a friend and a Sherlock Holmes figurine with a felt deer cap. That's about it for the obvious a-geek-lives-here pointers.

I collect hand made figurines, mostly ceramic and porcelain and a few netsuke I've managed to snag in auctions. I own 32 ceramic ones, 28 porcelain ones, a beautiful Chinese filigree and 7 netsuke figurines by my last count. So, not overtly geeky but still an obsession.

message 32: by Jane (new)

Jane Higginson | 165 comments I have small star wars model vehicles on my computer desk and a huge millenium falcon model my best friend made me, thats about it i guess as my girly side overcame my geek side when it came to decorating lol. If i can figure out how ot post a pic of my models here I will lol

message 33: by Jane (new)

Jane Higginson | 165 comments oh I forgot I have a doctor who t-shirt and the guild t-shirt and will be getting a geek and sundry tee and the flog tee, do they count as geek bling too ?!

Tim | 380 comments Somewhere at home I have a genuine Dragon Detector. This was a prop from the first stage production of Pratchett's Guards! Guards!. It may look like a bit of tinder tied to the end of an unravelled wire coat hanger, but I'm assured it is in fact a precision instrument. It even comes with a money back guarantee if it failed to detect the dragon that ate you..
