I don't think I'll manage more than one book and that one will be Soldier Boy: The True Story of Jim Martin, the Youngest Anzac
I've been meaning to read John Green for years, so this may be an excuse. Its just I dont own any of his work, but own like thirty Stephan King books. Either one of them will do.
JB - Soldier Boy is a great book - I've read it a few times now. I'll have to give some thought to what I will read.

I'll read Jodi Picoult's Sing You Home. The title reminds me of the WW1 songs by Vera Lyn eg "We'll meet again, White Cliffs of Dover' and so on, so the title seems appropriate for war time. And one of the characters is involved with religion, so that covers religion too.

Haha I know, saw the preview while waiting for The Hunger Games to start last Sunday :) but I thought it might be a good first book to read by him.

Have read a lot of Winton, find Picoult formulaic, wary of Grenville as don't know enough about her, and what I do makes me think I am not going to love her books so have a copy of http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/10... so will read his contribution plus others.

How's everyone going with this challenge at the moment? Is anyone reading any of the special authors?

Yes, sorry, forgot to put the link. Thanks, Brenda. JB :-)
I'm going with Peter FitzSimons' Nacy Wake;
It doesn’t totally meet the challenge requirements (because I have read Peter FitzSimons before) but this book has been sitting in the TBR pile for some time and it fits perfectly into the Anzac Day (military/special forces) theme.

That fits in fine Visible - enjoy :)

Our authors to choose from will be:
Tim Winton
Kate Grenville
Stephen King
Jodi Picoult
John Green
Just click on the author to see their published books
As an alternative...if you are stuck...you can choose an author whom you HAVEN'T read before, who is well published, and has a book which will relate to our either Easter or Anzac Day requirements.
Now to incorporate your author from this list, you need to make sure there's something which will relate to either Easter (eggs/colour purple/family) or Anzac Day (military/special forces) or both in the stories/titles/cover art of your chosen book/s.
e.g. The Lieutenant by Kate Grenville.
It doesn't matter how many you read, only one or as many as you want ...just put your thinking caps on, challenge yourself with something different and enjoy :)
