On a basic read through and proofread, 50K words would be $225.
The Mid-range edit would be 400. The comprehensive package would be 600.
The price is per 1000 words, so you would multiply the price listed times 50.

It is hard to put into words just how amazing she is, both as an editor and a person. Now imagine that a writer is at a loss for words!

Writers need editors. Even the best writers do. If you’re an author, you know this. You probably have a little voice in your head telling you to hire a professional editor to take your manuscript to the next level.Another voice, however, is probably nagging you about how expensive editing services can run. I realize that expensive does not always equal quality work, and conversely, cheap doesn't always mean your manuscript will be unwittingly destroyed. However, there are so many offers of cheaper-than-cheap that it makes the reasonably-priced editors seem expensive by comparison.
Lynda, yes, there are editors with rates cheaper than mine, and some do great work. The reasons for the low rates vary -- some might approach it as a sort of community service, or they have a low cost of living and don't need to charge as much as others. In my case, I want to be able to devote some serious attention to each manuscript, so I have to charge at least $5 per 1,000 words to take that time.
