Marlee sat on the roof toying with a stand of her hair she looked out on the Capitol sighing softly to herself. She didn’t want to go into the Training Room because she knew that she wouldn’t be able to show any real skills. In truth she’d probably just end up tripping and getting in the way of another tribute. No doubt she would just end up angering someone.
Karvin came onto the roof with a sigh. Was this were Remy was once? What did she do? He bit his lip and sat down on the edge opposite of Marlee. A tear ran down his cheek
Marlee looked over at the male and watched as a tear fell down his cheek. She felt bad and almost comforted him but at the thought of reaching out to someone she blushed and just looked down, pulling her knees to her chest in an attempt to make herself smaller.
Karvin looked over and smiled gently "hi" he went over and held his large hand out to her "I'm Karvin, district 7, and you are?"
Marlee looked up at the male, named Karvin and flushed, holding out a hand she shook his lightly and spoke softly, her voice slightly above a whisper, “Marlee, district 4.” She said looking down in embarrassment.
Karvin smiled softly and gently "You are a very pretty girl Marlee" he took his hand away and sat next to her with caution.
Marlee flushed and her eyes widened, "Oh no. Not really." She said softly, objectively but in her own quiet way. She despised compliments claiming that she never deserved them.
Karvin smiled softly "no really-- you are quite gorgeous" he chuckled at her shyness softly
Marlee shook her head, “I highly disagree, if you please. There are much prettier young ladies. Like-like Poppy. She’s really pretty and so is Isabella.” She nodded objecting to the compliment.
Karvin rose an eyebrow "Poppy? The district one girl?" he chuckled "Not my taste-- to cold if you ask me. And I believe you are very pretty."
Marlee’s cheeks flamed and she stuttered as she spoke, “P-please, stop.” She said softly as she mentally insulted herself to make up for the compliments.
Karvin's smiled fell "I'm sorry, I didn't realize I was making you uncomfortable."
Marlee nodded, she felt guilty for making his smile go away but she knew it was for the best. "I apologize for making you sad."
Karvin shook his head "I was already sad" she smiled softly at her "My best friend died in the last games-- Rememberance."
Marlee frowned, "I am sorry that you lost the one closest to you." She said softly meaning it too as she looked over at him.
Karvin shrugged "it's alright, I'll get my revenge for her." he smiled softly
Marlee nodded, "so you plan to win?" She asked softly and looked down at her feet, the boots she was wearing and toyed with the laces.
Karvin shook his head "No, I don't really think it would be fair if she didn't get out alive but I did"
Marlee frowned, "So you're going to die on purpose?" He eyes widened and she shook her head, "No no no no no. You can't do that."
Karvin shook his head "No, not die on purpose. But I am going to protect everyone else" he shrugged
Marlee frowned, "Why? She would want you to live. If she cared about you she would want you to live."
Karvin sighed "I know, but I don't want to kill anyone" he shrugged
Marlee bit her lip, "So hide out." She said softly and shook her head, "Sorry."
Marlee nodded, "I know. Thats why I apologized after I said it..." She trailed off and looked up at the sky.
Karvin chuckled and shook his head "Naw-- Naw don't be sorry. It's fine."
Marlee shook her head, "No I'm stupid, and I shouldn't make wimpy comments like that." She shook her head.
Karvin frowned "You aren't stupid-- Why do you even think that?"
Marlee nodded, "I am. I'm stupid and clumsy and loud and I talk too much. I think too much. My hair is ugly and ragged. My eyes are too bright and my skin isn't pale enough." She said insulting herself with her top insults.
Karvin frowned and put a hand on her lips "You are brilliant and clever, your are way quiet and shy, thinking is good, your hair is gorgeous and your eyes are like the stars. You skin is gorgeous. Why are you insulting yourself" he shook his head confused
Marlee blinked, startled and she shook her head, "Because I should be. I'm always insulted and so I always should be." She said softly, confused by all his compliments.
Karvin frowned "By who? who could possibly lie to you so much!?"
"My mom and my dad." Marlee replied frowning, "They didn't lie. They told me the truth. Thats why it hurts is because it is the truth."
Karvin frowned "Please-- those are the biggest lies I have ever heard"
Wolf walked out onto the roof and up to Marlee and Karvin. The shades on his face made it hard to see and he crossed his arms."Sup?"he said.
Marlee looked up at the new arrival and quickly looked away, blushing and muttering a very quiet, "Hi."
[hey Jay, do you want me to get rid of the charries that haven't rped? Are we going to rp Ray and Branch or are they basically dead? Where's Rolex?] Karvin looked up and did a small wave "Hey there"
(hmm ray and branch can die and rolex is in nonexistence right now. I gtg though)
Lune opened the door and found three others on the rooftop. She shuffled around nervously and walked on, looking out at a different direction.
Marlee stood and uncomfortable with Karvins compliments, she headed off to train.
Lune squirmed. Only girl, very uncomfortable. She tucked her black hair behind her ear.
Lune left and went to the training arena.
Wolf looked at Karvin."Hey you're that guy I saw when they interview district 7's friends an family, aren't you?"He suddenly asked him."Remembrance Turners friend?"
Karvin winced before sighing softly and nodding "yeah, yeah Remy was my best friend" he bit his lip and ran a hand through his short hair
"Didn't she fall for that one dude?"Wolfgang asked slowly noticing the pain the swept through him.
Karvin nodded while letting out a long breath "yeah, Fang. Remy had a crush on him for years. Im glad she finally got her dream" Karvin sighed
Wolf nodded."It's sad though, very sad,"he told him.
