Who was happy with Dimitri and Rose together at the end?

And yeah, we are picking on Rose because she was the main character and we only have her POV to go on.

I liked that Rose took off to look for Dimitri..the loss of Dimitri broke her and I personally think it was the first time she was thinking clearly..she went to 'save' the man she loved by going of to kill him instead of bowing down to Lissa..who wouldn't be left unprotected at school and who's old enough to be know how to be careful.
I do think Rose, like pretty much all the dhampir's have been conditioned/brain-washed..I don't know how else anyone else can explain how dhampir's would without any resentment or bitterness be happy and obliged to die for them..especially when they're treated with open disdain. I think when Dimitri died she was so griefstricken and determined to end Dimitri she snapped out of the moroi first conditioning..and once she started to accept Dimitri's 'death' she went right back to default mode - as in 'moroi come first'.
I like Angelique just because she punched Rose, she is very Rose like so far but I'm hoping she'll be a better version of Rose. I really don't like Jill..to me, she comes across as a whiny, spoilt princess..There's a part of me that wants her to be with Eddie just because the possiblity of a moroi princess and dhampir ending up together will shake things up and maybe even start to change the moroi's opinion of the dhampir's..but another part of me thinks Jill doesn't deserve the amount Eddie adores her and in that case I'd like him to get with Angelique.
Since reading Last Sacrifice I find that I dislike Rose more and more..I don't know why but when I was reading the last two books, she pissed me off no end but I didn't dislike her as much as I do now.
Has anyone else read the first chapter of the Golden Lily?? I was quite disappointed after reading it because (view spoiler)

Yeah, that was kind of disappointing. Still, there is about 400 pages of TGL to go so I'm sure there will be something. I disagree about Jill. She was always kind of cute to me and then she got a really crappy deal when she found out she was Lissa's half sister and her life has been pretty much misery ever since (Thanks to Rose).
I mean, she got stabbed to death! And she never even complained about it! And she jumped into a fight with Strigoi without hesitation. I think Jill is pretty cool.

I think for a moroi she is pretty cool but like most moroi she's coddled, adored and spoilt..I just don't like how she and most moroi don't have to work for anyone's adoration, respect or love.
Jill and Christian are definitely the best moroi but to put it bluntly I just don't like moroi. I think I'll only ever like a moroi that actually fights for equality between dhampirs & moroi's and who stands up and argues that dhampirs should not have to risk their lives for moroi and that dhampire children should not be taught that 'moroi come first' and that their own lives are unimportant. I just hate how the moroi expect the dhampir's to die for them. I know Christian and Jill wanted to learn how to fight and that was great but I would have prefered if they actually fought for the rights of dhampir's instead of fightinf for the rights for moroi to be able to learn how to fight.

No, I liked that Rose went after Dimitri, I was just trying to make a point that the excuses people give to justify Rose's behavior in Last Sacrifice have no base. Like some people say she has been trained to act a certain way but I say only when it suited her (or I should better say when it suited Richelle).I realized I should have said Rose is not that brainwashed because I recognize that she is the in the way that counts to the moroi. I really thought that when she went after Dimitri she would start to see how fucked up her life as a dhampir truly was but that didn't happen because Richelle never follows through with her shit.
I read the excerpt from the Golden Lily and I was bored. I didn't even read the whole thing, just skimmed through. I think the Adrian/Dimitri face off will happen later in the book.

I think for a moro..."
True. Most of the Moroi aren't very likeable. But the exceptions were my favorate characters. :P
It's a shame RM decided to butcher Tasha's character. Her turning out to be the killer was one of the worst parts of LS. So OOC. She's been portrayed as a strong, passionate, caring, fair, warrior that believes in equal rights and defends the guardians all the time. Then in the last 40 pages of the series, RM turns around and makes her into a treasonous psycho woman?
A woman that was perminantly scared defending Christian from his Strigoi parents, shunned and hated by the other royales but still always supportive and protective and tough as nails, is going to suddenly turn around and murder the queen and frame Rose in a petty act of jealousy?
Gun. Mouth. Now!
IMO, RM ruined one of the best characters of the whole series. I still love Tasha. I hope she shows up in Bloodlines.

I think for a moro..."
I'm also not a big fan of Jill, never was. The only Moroi that I like is Mia because she is not royalty and she knows she has to fight if she wants to survive. That was one of most irritating things about the VA series that the situation with the dhampirs never got addressed. It seems that even the author doesn't give a shit about the dhampirs. Her concerns by the end of the series were to 1. make sure Rose and Dimitri got together. 2. make sure Rose became Lissa's guardian. 3. make sure Lissa was queen. The real issues she didn't address, so I ask why bother putting them there in the first place if you are just going to use them as decoration? And there is no way she is going to tackle the subject in Bloodlines too deeply to resolve anything, especially with the addition of vampire hunters, witches, and the alchemists.

Yea..I actually got what you were saying:) but I sometimes tend to go off on tangents and then there's no stopping my incoherant ranting and ramblings..esp when it comes to R.Mead because there's so many things in her books that she's just effed up just because it's easier! I still don't get how she messed up Jill's powers or the name of Sonya's dhampir lover..I mean it's hardly complex, complicated or a large enough world to have those sort of inconsistencies..it was just because she was either lazy, bone-idle, stupid, uncaring or a combination of those to make those sort of errors - errors that could have been easily fixed if she'd bothered to read her own books or make notes.

I ..."
To be honest, Tasha rubbed me off the wrong way from the beginning. I always thought there was something shady about her character and the moment Rose got framed from killing Tatiana I suspected her.
But we can't expect morois to start the revolution for the dhampirs, they have to do it themselves. The best intentioned moroi are only fighting for the right to defend themselves, no one is saying, yeah, let's get rid of our guardians.

yeah, I don't know how she did that either. Doesn't she have use a freaking guideline to write her damn books?

I ..."
IKR..Tasha was the coolest moroi and like you said she was strong, caring and passionate..but out of the effing blue she's turned into a crazy villain who's obssessed with Dimitri and jealous of a teenager..I just can't really buy that she would murder the quuen, risk her life and freedom and disappoint Christian who she must love like a son over Dimtri and Rose..seriously..she was willing to destry her life and cause Christian a world of heart all because she was jealous..It's just unrealistic.

Maybe she was just psychotic from the start but hid well. It's very common behavior among psychos, lol. I mean, she had the background to justify having one or two screws loose in her head but I would have loved if Richelle had surprised me there and given us a very unpredictable killer.

I never thought about it that way before..more than anything I want my dhampir revolution..everything else is just secondary..when will the dhampirs wake up and rebel the fu*k up?1

Yea..it doesn't look like we'll ever get our dhampir revolution..I did read somewhere that the in the Bloodlines series they might find a way to change the stirgoi once and for all (even though spirit powers basically do that)..so maybe the moroi won't need protecting anymore..I think I'm hoping for too much. I really want to know if Rose or Lissa needed saving from certain death who would Rose's mother and Dimitri pick..I mean she's written this whole 'moroi come first' but she's hardly explored it..I mean how far are the dhampirs willing to go to stick to their 'moroi come forst' belief?? I want to know!

I'm just not convinced about Tasha..I would have liked their to be some foreshadowing of Tasha's mental instability..sure she had the history their but there was no sign at all of her having a screw lose..I would have been happy with Rose noticing a glare or a narrowing of eyes or flarring of nostrils but there was nothing:(
Oh I liked Mia the most actually..I completely forgot about her..she was strong, brave and could hold her own!

I never thought about it that way before..more than anything I want my dhampi..."
I have zero hopes that anything major will happen. We are going to get a glimpse of things and then Richelle will focus on more important stuff, like Jill's love life. Ugh! Was the whole thing with Jill and her many love interests really necessary in Bloodlines? Give me a break.

Guardian or not she has a life and she has every reason to go after Dimitri. Had it been Adrian in the place of Dimitri, no one would have even questioned it.

Yeah, Mia became a great character after the 2nd book. You're right about Tasha. Anyone that is psychotic shows small signs of instability. It would have been more believeable if Adrian suddenly turned psycho because there's been a lot of foreshadowing about him. He goes off on those wierd little rambling moments. Tasha never showed anything like that.
As for a guardian revolution, well, I'm not sure most of them would know what to do with themselves if they suddenly didn't have to guard moroi anymore. They'd probably die of boredom. :P

He's in the second book.

If the dhampir revolted it would mean they are fed up with the way they are treated. I don't think they would die of boredom. Plus, a dhampir revolution wouldn't mean that they were all going to quit being guardian because probably a lot of them enjoy that. It would mean more choices for them and also better working conditions. They are nothing more than glorified slaves. They only have two choices right now, become a guardian or being ostracized by society. Hardly a way to live.

Or join the Keepers. :P If I was a dhampire, I'd just fake my own death and disappear into human society.

i do i wish there was a book about there future

r u serious is she really do you know when

Sure he didn't deserve the cheating, but Rose wasn't going to end it on a dream. I liked him better on Bloodlines after he started to get his game together.
And for me the most amazing character in the series is Christian Ozera, snarky, sarcastic, and it goes on and on. For me Christian was far sexier and a better character than Adrian and Dimitri.

r u serious is she really..."
thats so cool i cant wait!!!!

r u seriou..."
that is amazing! i did not know that!!!

This is exactly how I feel about the end of the series. I am happy Rose and Dimtitri ended up together but Adrian stuck with Rose through all the hard times, suffered a lot and changed his life around FOR ROSE and then she ended things on in the worse possible way and to top it all off he lost two family members poor Adrian!

Apprently in TGL, Adrian is having a very hard time with his mother being in prison and his dad practically disowning him. Let's hope Sydney helps him through it. :D

I haven't started the spin-off series yet, I didn't really hear good things about it, but I do hope Adrian gets a happy ending he sure deserves it.

Bloodlines is a bit of a slow start but it had some great bits in it. The advance reviews of TGL all say that it's amazing.

Adrian knew she was in love with Dimitri, he knew when they started dating and during their whole relationship. In a way she was still vulnerable after Siberia and he wanted a chance, he got it, and her love for Dimitri was too deep and too strong. I like Adrian but Rose is a strong spirit, Adrian on the other hand was dependent of her the whole time. He tried not to smoke or drink because of her.
A change like that should be for one's self and not for the other person.
Dimitri and Rose where pulled together, they were equals, Adrian was never her equal. She loves him, but as a friend and she was sorry she hurt him, but it was going to happen sooner or later.

I´m absolutly agree with your opinion. Rose was made for Dimitri!
*Spoiler*
And Adrian may fallen in love with somebody in the Bloodline series:D

I like Adrian on Bloodlines, sure he is very irresponsible at the beginning specially considering his Jill situation, but as the book goes on and as he and Sydney start to interact it gets better. I think she rather than makes him want to change, inspires him to try and be productive.
I really liked the artistic Adrian, all he ever did while with Rose was stop drinking and smoking, Sydney actually wants him to be a better man. Go to school and be get better for himself and Jill- who was seeing very disturbing things someone her age shouldn't see anyone else do-.

But Adrian was never really fully himself when he was with Rose. As she said, they had fun together, but he never did anything for himself. Everything he did was for Rose. On Bloodlines, he shows that he is so much more, and that he can be so much better, and he does not need Rose for that. And Love is not really about a challenge. And I think that if one's happiness is on the line then we are allowed a bit of selfishness, Rose and Dimitri deserved to be Happy with each other.
Adrian has his just desserts coming to him. He was brilliant on Bloodlines.

I heard a lot of people complaining about Bloodlines, personally I really liked it. I think it was better than the first vampire academy book. I hated it that book.
But yeah, Adrian is pretty cool in Bloodlines, has his very Adrian moments at the beginning and some more later but ... that is too much of a spoiler already.

That is just it. He did it FOR Rose. He should've done it for himself.

I hope seeing Dimitri won´t affect him negatively:/

Not necessarily.I think he did it because sure Rose hated it, but more than anything he just didn't want to give her an excuse to leave him.
Its like he was basing his happiness on Rose alone, he was the adult in that relationship. So it was a bit unfair. Its like Damon from the vampire diaries acting like a self destructive jerk every time Elena tells him 'no'.
I think selfless would be or could be accepting that the other person truly loves someone else, and that they too deserve to be happy. Rose was wrong-on the cheating part- , but she was right about her and Adrian not really being meant to be. He never understood her like Dimitri. So I think he is better off without her. Now Sydney is telling him to stop the drinking and partying not for him, or her but because of Jill, and because all of those things are hurting her, Jill was feeling his pain and suffering.
Personally I would take Christian over both of them any day.

It most likely will. But if he got better the last book maybe this will give him some closure, I think he needs it.
I really hope Christian is in this one, even if just by name. I miss his snarky self. Lord Ozera.

Not necessarily.I think he did it because sure Rose hated it, but more than anything he just didn't want to give he..."
I'm completely in favor of loving someone for who they are but If memory serves, it was Rose that asked Adrian to change and he did want she wanted, even though he didn't want to.
Rose demands alot.

Rose demands alot. "
She asked him to do something that was going to be better for him than for her. Rose asking him to stop smoking and drinking so much wasn't for herself as much as it was for him.
The only problem I see with Rose asking him and him doing it, is that he did it for her and not for himself.
People see Adrian as a big, helpless victim, but lets not forget who was older in that relationship. And there is the fact that Adrian was never meant for Rose, he deserves to be loved by someone who can motivate him, Rose was too strong of a spirit for him, personally I loved Adrian in the second half of Bloodlines, he was more stable.

But he admitted that he rushed her and then told her to figure out how she really felt and if she truly wanted to make a go of being with him, he'd be waiting. I think it was in the casino in SB.
Then Rose, knowing she was still in love with Dimitri decided not to break up with Adrian just yet because 'she might need his help later'. She never actually does break up with him in fact, he has to find out on his own and after she recovers from her wounds, she makes no attempt to go and find him and explain, he has to come and find her. Then, instead of fully admitting that she used him and cheated on him and didn't even respect him enough to tell him the truth, she blames him for it, calling him a 'victim'.
He actually was a victim, in the same way that Mason was a victim of a Strigoi. A victim means you are used, decieved or attacked by another party. In this case, Rose was doing the attacking. And it's not like he could fight back against her cheating on him from half the country away.
