Well I Know who that is...seen the DVD covers at the store but have not watched it. After having the show described as Tudor porn and reading places how much that was changed from the actual history and that he does not at all look like a Henry to me...lol I just could not bring myself to give it a shot. Seems most either love the show or hate it.....

Jennifer (jennifertudor) | 951 comments I think it's one of those shows that you seriously have to watch for pure entertainment and be okay with putting aside fact completely. It's fabulous to watch for the beautiful people and the beautiful costumes. You can't watch it with expectations of reality but you can watch it as a soap opera. But yeah, it's definitely Tudor porn. lol.

Giggle well while am sure I would love the costumes and scenery and all I think the content would ruin it for me. I am not prudish or anything but I think that sometimes the shows go over the top when same story line and idea could be gotten across without some of the added content. I will just have to hear about the costumes and such on here ....lol

Misfit | 161 comments Absolutely positively do not read Erickson's new *historical entertainment* on Mary. Bad, unbelievably bad.

Suzanne (chatternyc) | 178 comments Reay Tannahill's book is hands-down my fave HF on Mary. You might look at Elizabeth Byrd's Immortal Queen, also. OOP, but can be found inexpensively via Amazon vendors.

For biographies, my favorite is still the classic Antonia Fraser, although there have been others that are more updated since then. But it's authoritative and well written -- I read it as a child, beginning to end.

Colleen (nightoleander) | 1106 comments Wen you've got to try the show "Tudor porn" or not. The eye candy is reason enough!

Damn Misfit a bad Erickson book? That's just too bad. What was so bad about about it?

Heee, all of the above. Let alone Bothwell's nickname for her - Orange Blossom. Gag me.
