Kate (kateperegrinate) And based on interviews I've seen with him and his Vogue UK blog, he comes off as intelligent. (Although he does do this weird thing with his mouth when he talks that kind of turns me off.)

LOL. Well, he's gotta have something wrong with him or else he'd not be human : ).

I myself am not too much into pretty boys. I appreciate their beauty on a purely aesthetic level but they don't do much for me. I prefer the "manly man" types who are not exactly classically handsome but rather have character and sex appeal. Like Clive Owen, Daniel Craig and Richard Armitage.

The 1st pic is a dead ringer for Ken Wahl.

Same here, Lulu.

message 55: by Kate (new)

Kate (kateperegrinate) I feel the same way, Lulu! I generally like the manly men, not pretty boys. Lean and muscular (but not over-developed muscles), hair on the chest, ability to grow a beard. I also have a fondness for what I call noses of distinction - a little big, a little crooked, a little bumpy...I'll take any of those.

message 56: by Aruana (new)

Aruana | 248 comments I used to have a thing for Ken Wahl in Wiseguy, but he's lost his looks over the years.

That was a good show. I liked the arc with Kevin Spacey where he was in love his sister, played by Joan Severance. It was twisted, but it was good television.

message 58: by Aruana (new)

Aruana | 248 comments Gosh, I never realized Kevn Spacey - on of my fave actors - especially in LA Confidential, was in it.

He was very young, but you could see his potential. I love LA Confidential. That's a great movie!

message 60: by Aruana (new)

Aruana | 248 comments I know! Such an amazing cast. I am a massive fan of Russell Crowe - MASSIVE - lol!

message 61: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Harlequin Presents are my crack! (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 2281 comments Mod
Russell Crowe is a fine actor. And he's good looking too.

message 62: by Verity (new)

Verity | 567 comments Guy Pearce was scrumptious when LA confidential came out. I saw it 5 X I was that cwazy. Such a GR8 movie. He looked so attractive w/ glasses as the good cop vs thighmaster RC the tough cop. GP is so versatile, looks yummy but heelarious in The adventures of Priscilla. He also looks marvelous in "In her skin" as the frantic dad searching for missing teen daughter, not knowing she's been murdered by their psychotic teen babysitter. He's too gaunt in most of his movies tho.

message 63: by Aruana (new)

Aruana | 248 comments Don't get me started on movies! My first love actually, then reading M & B. I recently saw Guy Pearce in Animal Kingdom - Australian movie. Also with Joel Edgerton in it.

Mr Crowe is working on Les Mis at the moment with Hugh Jackman. It's going to be interesting.

Verity | 567 comments Well speaking of bespectacled beautiful men, I lost buckets of drool over Toby Stephens in "Photographing fairies". Not a drop of saliva left after watching him grieve for expired wifey. Also in the GR8 Gatsby, 12th night. I dunno wot they feed the Brits across the pond but they're all drool suckas. Raph Fiennes, Damian Lewis, Jeremy Northam, Sean Bean. When LOTR trilogy were all the rage, I bought memorabilia & posters of Aragorn. VIGGO is da bomb.

ETA : Rosamund Pike is purrfect as Bond gal, that creamy complexion made me green w/ envy. She & Toby Stephens made me buy the DVD. dunno why I bothered when they play it on cable a gazillion times afterwards.

message 65: by Aruana (last edited Apr 11, 2012 01:40AM) (new)

Aruana | 248 comments My current top ones are : Tom Hardy, Daniel Craig and Clive Owen.

When I get into an actor I try and collect ALL their dvd's. Loved Daniel Craig in The Mother - it all started there. Clive Owen: Chancer. Tom Hardy - Inception and then Warrior.

I nearly forgot Michael Fassbender - but I think he is Irish.

message 66: by Verity (new)

Verity | 567 comments MF is German Irish. I 1st saw him in Agatha Christie : Hercule Poirot episode, then some obscure movie - a bear named Winnie, based on tru story, then 300. Gerald Butler is too doughy so my eyes were glued to MF's 6-pack the whole time. In H'S I used to go ga-ga over Daniel Day Lewis when The last of the Mohicans came out, also Campbell Scott in Dying Young - a sob jerker, later on discovered William Hurt in Children of a lesser god where he fell in luv w/ Marlee Matlin in & outside the movie.

B4 Casino Royale turned the haters into worshippers, I saw Daniel Craig in Layercake. The way he walks made my mouth dry LOL... He was verra dorky looking in Enduring Love, verra cweepy thriller where he got a stalkerazzi.

message 67: by Aruana (new)

Aruana | 248 comments Ooo, I have Layer Cake in my collection and Enduring Love as well.

Others I have are : Love is the Devil, Some Voices, Road to Perdition, Our Friends in the North (love it), The Ice House, Elizabeth, Sword of Honour, Lara Croft, Sylvia, Archangel, Infamous and Defiance, The Mother and Cowboys & Aliens (thought he was a bit too trim in that one - more meat please). Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace of course.

I even have The Power of One - his first movie and an episode of Sharpe's Eagle (Sean Bean).

Oh, man. I had a serious thing for Guy Pearce for a while. I still like him. He seems to reject the sex symbol designation, so he takes a lot of roles that are very edgy. He looks great in Lockout!

Daniel Craig does have an incredible walk. He is not a pretty man, but he is super-duper hot!

BTW, I love Jeremy Northam, Damien Lewis, and Sean Bean off your list, V.

message 71: by Kate (new)

Kate (kateperegrinate) I think Elizabeth is the first thing I saw Daniel Craig in, but he didn't strike my fancy at that time (small role, and he has a dorky haircut). Of course, I went to see Elizabeth because I love Christopher Eccleston. He's also the reason I started watching Doctor Who (which I now watch religiously!).

Sapheron | 56 comments I LOVE DOCTOR WHO!!!

I have been a Doctor Who lover for over 30 years! It's my most serious fandom. I am loving Matt Smith, the newest Doctor.

message 74: by Verity (last edited Apr 11, 2012 09:00PM) (new)

Verity | 567 comments I Lurved Christopher Eccleston in Jude, so intense & haunting. 1 of those movies that stayed w/ me long after viewing it, depressing as hell tho, I felt like I just got hit by a ton of bricks.

Same goes for Ewan MacGregor in Moulin Rouge, James McAvoy in Atonement. I just lurve movies w/ sad endings. Matthew McFadyen in P & P is so dreamy too.

I Lurved Guy Pearce in Memento but the movie confused the cwap outta me, had to see it 2 X to understand the sequence.

message 75: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Harlequin Presents are my crack! (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 2281 comments Mod
Yeah, Memento is one of those WTF movies. :)

message 76: by Kate (new)

Kate (kateperegrinate) I like Matt Smith, but I didn't like the last series as much as the previous ones. I had such high hopes when Steven Moffat took over as producer because he'd penned my favorite episodes (and I love Coupling), so maybe I was expecting too much. And for the first time, I'm looking forward to his getting a new companion -- I'm tired of Amy Pond.

message 77: by Verity (new)

Verity | 567 comments Oh I also had a heavy crush on Linus Roache when Priest came out. I dragged my GF to see it in some seedy theatre. Robert Carlyle 1st caught my eye in Priest & when The full Monty exploded @ the box office, it just cemented my liking for him. He's goofy in a shexy way.

message 78: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Harlequin Presents are my crack! (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 2281 comments Mod
Linus Roache is cute, and I do have a soft spot for Robert Carlyle. Do you watch Once Upon a Time, V? He's interesting on there.

I think Matt Smith has an old school Doctor vibe, which I love. And he's fierce. Amy doesn't annoy me as much as Rose did. If there was any chance Rose would get in trouble and need saving, she managed to do it.

message 79: by Kate (new)

Kate (kateperegrinate) I've had a thing for Linus Roache ever since seeing Wings of the Dove! I even started watching Law & Order when he joined the cast.

One of my favorite things about the hotel where I stay in London is that there is an old decommissioned police box outside the nearby tube station: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia...

Robert Carlyle has a good role on there. It's a good show, but every episode ends with me wanting to murder the Evil Stepmother/Regina!

message 83: by Sapheron (new)

Sapheron | 56 comments I guess ya'll can tell from my profile pic how big a Who fan I am!

As for Once Upon a Time, I started watching it just for my interest in the fairy tales, but, especially in the last few episodes of this season (it's first), it's done some really interesting things with the old stories (only the story of red riding hood was already played out). It's turning into a really good, well-done show.

And I too want to kill Regina.

message 84: by Verity (new)

Verity | 567 comments Wow if both of U R so passionate bout this series, it must be verra evocative. I can't wait to watch. I've only been watching tennis w/ 1 eye & the otha bleary eye on the ebook. Multi-tasking is a must due to time constraint.

Same for me! Very confused, even after watching it a second time. After that I gave up - lol.

Christopher Eccleston: he only did one season of Dr Who, didn't he. Loved him in Our Friends in the North.

P.S. One of these months I'm going to do a Spell-it-out challenge based on the way V spells things; specifically: C.W.A.Z.Y. ☺ Such fun. Love it!

Haha U're reading the special shorthand cum slang a la V's, well I tried to sound Scottish, but I know I come across lame LOL...

I saw those. Nic's / Clive's pics look like wax dolls. I wish Nic would do more comedy. She's simply brilliant as ditzy chick in To die for & the bitchy rival of Jen in Just go w/ it.
