The Outsiders
question
Strangely, I can't complete reading this small book.

This might sound kind of stupid, but each paragraph in this book triggers such imagination in me that I can't help but wander into thoughts regarding the things said in that paragraph, won't return to the words in the actual page for an hour or so, and for two months now since I started reading this book, I'm still in the third chapter. This book is so well written, and I'm stunned, and still stunned, to know that this book of great thorough observation of practical life in slums was written by a 16 year old girl. Absolutely amazing. I may never be able to complete reading this book.

Read it in school for an assignment and we listened to it. helped me stay focused. I hear you! It was kind of hard for me to stay on the page.

One of my favorite books from when I was a teen. I don't remember how many times I've read this book. I felt like I knew these charatcers inside and out. It is amazing that a 16 yr. old would have such a good grasp on society.
This is one of my favorite books ever. I read it in middle school and finished it in two days I couldn't put it down. I think it will help maybe if you imagine it like a movie playing out.
I read this book in a day, but then I kept re-reading it and ended up with a grand total of approximately 30 times. I felt like I was in the story and reading it never got old. You can lose yourself in the pages of this book even though it is so small. The purpose of a book is to not have a lot of pages, but to have lots of depth and meaning. Hinton achieved the perfect depth while maintaining a fair amount of pages.

And she was 16 when she wrote it. Absolutely unbelievable. Great. Almost miraculous. :)
