I hated the movie with a passion what got me even more pissed were the actors and the fact that disney picked it up. THIS is why I hate it when books get turned into movies.
I disliked the movie because of all the messing around they did with the plot but the aspect of the film that really made me annoyed was that the girl who acted as "Ellie" the amazing track star was a horrible runner. Did that bug anyone else?
horrible ,, there was no need for extra characters plus why was the boy even there if he was just going to be NOTHING in the story
not really i like the book much better because it seems more real then the movie. and the I don't think the teacher was the bad guy in the book. I hate how movies change a book
The book was way better. They should have kept it the same. The original plot was peftect, and they didn't even consider it, they changed everything except the basic concept. Disney should have never taken on this movie. The book was just too good for Disney.
I thought the movie was awesome. It wasn't a direct adaptation, but the twists and turns were cool. I loved the book (and I missed the Elaine of Astolat references in the movie), but the movie was really fun and brought a new spin while keeping the core feel of the book. It have been cool to see the book brought to life on the screen, but I didn't think the changes they made were horrible, more interesting and kept me surprised while I watched it.
started watching the movie but within the first 15 minutes i was like 'this is crap' and stopped. loved the book though. it's a shame.
I started the movie and I was like "Oh, okay. I guess this is fine." and then I got to the end and was so mad ! Why was the girl King Arthur ? Why was Will nothing?! Why was Mr. Morten Mordred? Why was the brother nobody? I was so dissapointed but I loved the book.
It was horrible. I yelled at my screen during the ending. And I agree that deviating from the story was really stupid of them. I hated it. I wonder what the author thought of them deciding to do that?
The ending didn't make any sense- I think it is fine if the ending to the movie is changed if it fits the movie plot better or the ending is an improvement on the book ending (explains things the book left out or something) but the ending was bad.I liked the book but I didn't think it was amazing, one of the things I liked was the ending and the twist at the end when who she really is gets revealed. And the frustration thing is that they didn't have to change it- I think the book would have translated to the screen well.
The movie is good s a movie. But compared to the book it is pretty bad. I saw it before I read the book and I loved it. Don't think of it as a book to movie adaptation think of it as two completely different things and they will both be awesome for you!
The book was so much better than the movie! What was up with the teacher-turning-into-mordred nonsense in the movie???And Gregg Sulkin did not fit my mental picture of Will Wagner at all.
I hated the movie I was so excited when I saw it was going to be on but it was such a disappointment. It left out so much of the really clever stuff and the end was awful
It's different for me. I saw the movie first. I didn't know there was a book (I must've missed it in the movie's opening credits). Without knowledge about the book, I thought the movie was okay - I didn't hate it but I didn't like it either. There was a lot of confusing parts like how come the girl was Arthur when all the clues that she discovered points to Will Wagner. So when does Will comes into the Arthurian picture?
But boy, was I surprised now that I've read the book. Ellie became Allie in the movie. The Elaine of Astolat or Lady of the Lake references were forgotten which is a pity because I had fun reading those parts. Plus, she became SHORT!
So, after reading the book, I've figured that the movie is a disappointment. And I am glad I didn't watch AFTER reading the book or else, I might've wasted a delicious box of popcorn.
I watched the movie before I read the book, and it is my absolute favorite Disney movie of ALL TIME. (I didn't like how Allie became short, because I wam a very tall person myself, but you couldn't really tell on the screen). And GREGG SULKIN = AMAZING A. WILLIAM WAGNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3<3<3
The movie was just immensely terrible T____T disney totally cannot just bombard a good book just like that. idk how could i spent my almost 2 hours watching such shit.
I watched the movie first and thought it was okay. Few months later I came across the book and I loved it! 10 times better than the movie. Plot actually makes sense in the book. I don't quite understand why they changed things in movie like that. Polite request to director: read the book!
Definitely surprised, but didn't like it at all. It's been years since I watched it but I remember hating it with a passion and being angry. Will give it a rewatch to see if anything has changed.
Hahaha! I tried rewatching it the other day. oh my goodness. I made it all the way to the part where she meets Will and I gave up. I still hate it and it still makes me angry. It could have been such a good movie T__T
Ya i was very surprised. The book's really good but they really messed up the movie!!!!! Even I watched the movie before I read the book. The plot in the movie certainly didn't make sense. The movie has an unusual twist towards the end while the book has a sensible end!!!!!
I t just doesn't give the book justice. I tried watching the first time it came out but...yeah. I stopped it right when they met at the drinking fountain. The first thing that made me stopped was the that the actress was blonde. ???? The girl in the book is a brunette so what. I tried to look passed that but the stupidness of the flier flying through the window to land directly on her bed and the guy who played Will made me stop. Disney should have never got of a hold of this story. -_-;
i have a question because i havent read the book.does in the book, the girl become arthur in the end?
does the teacher become mordred?
and does will's girlfriend cheat on him?
did these happen in the book?
I saw the movie first before the book and I thought it was good but then once I read the book I was pretty disappointed.I loved the way the book ended better than the movie. Disney ruined it -_-
