Joe (genialjoe) | 4 comments Am I ok to change the edition of Pure that has the UK ISBN (9780755385485) to the UK cover image? It has been previously uploaded with that ISBN but using the American (I think) image.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Looking at the log and other sites, it does appear that cover image was uploaded from other editions, and was never published with that edition. So in this case, yes, I would go ahead and delete that image and upload the correct one.

You cannot use that site as a cover image source, as it is a bookseller.

From the Librarian Manual: "Acceptable sources for cover images include author and publisher websites"

I thought this would be fine given that that is the book's publisher's website. Am I wrong?

Sorry! I am not familiar with that publisher and didn't look at the site carefully enough. Yes, if they are the book's publisher, they are a fine source.

Great stuff! Just wanted to check as just getting started with librarian status!

Thanks for responding!

I am always in favor of librarians asking questions, particularly new ones. :)

Hi Rivka,

I'm a new librarian and I have a book entitled "The Slave Master's Son." The version that I have is on Kindle, but this version is not on Goodreads. Only the print version is. Do I add the format as Kindle Edition or ebook? I know I can't add their cover. How would I import that? Thanks so much for your reply.

Sandra | 31515 comments Gwen, if you have the kindle edition you list it as kindle. Is the cover the same as the print version or different?

If the same you simply copy it - right click & save image as, which saves it to your computer, then click the kindle edition & edit details - rhs - add a cover image for this book - click the browse button, find your saved cover click the upload button & you're done.
