The answer to this question depends on the type of book one likes to read and how they relate to the characters. If a person really gets into those steamy sex novels then a book like twilight, in most cases, is probably not going to appeal to them. I am a romantic looking to make my boring uneventful like melt away. I like to put myself in place of the characters. I like to feel the story. Non-emotional type people don't like sticky emotional drama. Stephanie Meyer did an excellent jot with all the books, though there were a few spots that left me wanting, like her depression in the second book. Not to say that a person wouldn't go through something like that, but that it lasted a bit too long. I didn't appreciate Jacobs narration in the fourth book either. As to my preference of Edward or Jacob...I have always had an obsession with vamps, I don't know why so if it came down to it, and I really didn't care about the whole afterlife thing, I would so choose Eddie, but Jacob is the one I would choose hands down in the mortal sense. He's real and tangible where as Edward seems unreachable. The third movie was awesome, the rest were nuggets.
