His words warm me, and I lean into him with a smile on my face. "I hate to interrupt," my mom suddenly says from behind us, making me shoot up yet again, but more carefully this time. "But dinner's ready." Dinner? Wow, I didn't even realize we'd been sitting here for so long. "Your parents won't mind if you stay for dinner, right, Troy?" she asks.

I smile at Nat's mother, and shake my head in answer to her question. "Nope, I told them I'd probably be here for a while. If you don't mind." A blush crept up on my face, as my smile turned shy.

Mom smiles wide and walks over to us, gesturing to the wheelchair. "You need any help, Troy?" I'm kind of hoping Troy would carry me by himself again, although I would never admit it. I loved the feeling of it and I wished it lasted longer.

"I've got her," I smile kindly at her now, it seeming to be impossible now to keep it off my face. As if to prove it to her, I slide one arm under Nat's legs, and my other around her back, picking her up easily. I cradled her to my chest for a moment, treasuring the time we had together like this before we left our alone little world. I sat Nat down carefully in her wheelchair, carefully to put her legs in the holders.

I want to whine like a little girl when he sets me down on the wheelchair, but I resist as best as I can. Mom probably reads my expression because she laughs and takes the wheelchair's handles, pushing me into the kitchen with Troy following along. "Where's Dad?" I ask. "He's having dinner with his co-workers," Mom replies, pushing the chair in front of the dining table. My stomach grumbles a little too loudly at the sight of the food, and I blush.
